I like that it was thin. Had the rear exhaust. And the digital display.

Just installed the Aircom T8 today. Matches the profile of my Marantz SR5011 reciever beautifully. I have mine paired with the Airplate S7 which is pushing heat out the back of the entertainment center cabinet and together the two are keeping the cabinet temp at 86 degrees f with cabinet door closed (78 degrees f with cabinet door open). The Airplate S7 plugs into back of Aircom T8 which provides both power and integrated control of the Airplate S7. Very pleased with this product. Customer support is amazing. Used the online chat and had the answer to my question in less than 30-seconds. As a side note, my question was how do you dim the unit display which is not covered in the users manual. Support had me set the unit to off, then use up down buttons to adjust brightness.

Works just as advertised. I have it sitting on top of my Marantz sr6010 which runs very hot. Keeps it nice and cool. Would pay more money if you could use quieter vfd drive fans in a upgraded model. By the way it looks as if it were made for the Marantz.

I actually read the manual and setup the cooler according to it. It’s too loud at all but the lowest speed so not much flexibility IMO. There was a lot of baking going on one weekend so I set the house thermostat to heat at 65 but forgot to reset it before bed. Woke up freezing and the whole house was 65 degrees. I noticed the T8 probe had a reading of 73! I ran my hand over everything and with all equipment off and cold to the touch the probe was reading 73! I am waiting to hear from Yamaha on exactly what my receiver’s operating and red line temps are. Right now unless someone explains how this is not a problem it’s going to be returned.

It blows so much heat of my receiver heat that would just sit there and eventually make the receiver fail...

This is the second T8 fan I buy to cool my new Parasound JC5 amp and it does its job of keeping my amp cool which runs a little hot! And this was the cheapest place I could find it at and it arrived sooner than expected with no issues!

While this fan does make some noise as it goes faster, I just dont notice it when a movie is on, even sitting 6 away. It has four function settings, On, Off, Thermostat, and Smart. Thermostat just turns the fan on to a pre-set speed at a temperature set point. Smart is the only one that makes sense to me; it increases the fan speed as the temperature gets farther above a set point. On my Denon AVR-X4700H in a media center with vents at the shelf bottom and cabinet rear, it takes fan setting 3 (out of 5) to keep the temperature measured temperature (measured by a probe in the fan unit) below 100 F when its running a 5.1 surround sound system at reasonable volume. Im surprised it gets even that hot, but thats well below the AVRs safe operating point. I ran an older Denon AVR in the same cabinet without this ventilation fan, and it worked fine, but the cabinet top got noticeably warm.
