Just to cut to it, this specific model of the Nitro 5 is incredibly a solid all-around; from the lots of room to expand storage/RAM, great keyboard, good cooling, etc.. The performance is great as well as it can play most modern games at 1080 ultra settings at great FPS.

In less than 6 months time this laptop will not function unless its plugged in. It doesnt even take a few seconds it will die INSTANTLY the second it is unplugged from power. I bought this laptop to trade stocks while my other laptop was being repaired (which is about 6 years old and still functions better than this even before being repaired....) and the only thing Ive had open was chrome. Looks like I cant readily swap a battery out either which shouldnt even have to be done after 6 months. If there is no warranty Ill probably just sell it somewhere with my receipt attached of this new laptop and share the glory of ACER with the next lucky winner.

Great machine, but it was lacking a little. I installed a 2tb hard drive and 8gig memory and its the cats meow.

After purchase we Added 1 TB, and added 8 gigs. Easy to install into the empty slots.

I bought a model from tem years ago SAme case Chassis, It was horrible gpu burned out easily within 3 months of use, Hate to tell you nerds but ACER makes bad LAptops.

This is the first item I have ever returned from Amazon, as you have probably seen from other reviews, a common issue is the laptop will arrive simply not turning on or charging. I was one of those people that ignored technical issues such as these because they have never happened to me. That being said: I would be careful with this one, it is packaged so loosely that it very likely bounced around during its shipping and knocked something important, when it arrived sure enough, didn’t indicate a charge, simply did not turn on. I would save your money, and get a gaming laptop from your local Best Buy instead. Depending on what you’re after, maybe even a prebuilt from your local Best Buy, or perhaps a more reputable website to order from.

Ever since my son got this for his birthday, he has yet to emerge from his room. I walked into his room the other day, not knowing he was there, opened the shades and got hissed at by what I can only assume was my son. I did not recognize him through all the soda cans and candy wrappers.
