> 3 dayDespite the shining review score, this is not an ideal laptop for gaming, primarily because of the overheating. Even when paired with a cooling platform, it still overheats with games that really shouldnt be overdemanding to this gaming laptop. I dont know what the deal is since google delivers a million fixes for overheating, most of which make no sense. The games Ive played that overheat this machine include Raft, Terraria, Elder Scrolls Online, and Baldurs Gate 3. My second charger just died as a result of this (same as the original) - $50 down the drain, and another $50 for a third now. Whats the point of buying a $1200 gaming laptop if you cant play games on it?

> 3 dayPurchased September 2020. The graphics card would crash and force a restarts. Stopped powering on via battery or power cable May 2021. Sent it back for repairs and when it returned the sound card doesn’t work and now windows will not boot.

Greater than one weekThey dont make things like they used to is the old adage that applies well to the Acer Predator Helios. My previous laptop (a Dell) was well built by comparison. There were no hardware issues for years. Then I bought the Predator Helios. To be sure, its fast and colorful - but its cheaply built. Within a few months the keyboard key symbols started to scratch off. Now the right fan buzzes and needs to be replaced. Sure, I could send it off to the Acer support center for repair, but I only have one computer, this laptop - I just need to live with it and watch this thing rapidly fall apart, unfortunately.

Greater than one weekBought this laptop before my last deployment. Worked very smoothly. Battery life is very short however but thats expected for a gaming laptop. I can get about 3 hours of casual browsing and streaming videos 100% battery. I can get about 1 hr of gaming on low settings before having to plug it in. Worth the buy.

> 3 dayIts amazing!! I love it so much! On this the batter does die a little fast but it does have led keyboard lights and it has 14 cores!! Laptops usually only have like 4-8! It is amazing for the price. It was super easy to set up, and even came with stickers! And a passport. I am so glad i got this one. Definitely would recommend! It came packaged really well thankfully, and with its own little protective case and lining for the keyboard. The Amazon box looked like a dog chewed it.

> 3 dayIm very pleased with this laptop! It runs very smooth and the screen looks great. The battery life isnt the best though; typically it lasts a few hours before giving me the battery low notification. The fans when the laptop is cooling down are much quiter than I expected them to be. Overall, its working great!

> 3 dayI did a lot of research, watching youtube videos, reading articles, trying to find the best gaming laptop for the $1,000. When I first saw the predator helios 300, I fell in love. I love the blue color and the sleek design of the laptop. I was amazed by the specs. Core i7 processor, GTX 1660ti, 16gb ram, 512gb ssd. I knew that this was the one.
