I am studying to become a medical coder and needed a bag that would carry all of the massive coding books, but without killing my back. This is my first time ever purchasing a rolling case like this so I dont have any previous experience to compare it to, but so far I really like it. Its able to hold my three coding books plus either my courses textbook or my laptop, but not both. The front is nice to hold all my pens/highlighters/etc with ample organizer pockets to keep things in their place. I havent had any issues with the handle as of yet and it slides in and out quite easily. The reason I gave this four stars rather than five is that Im watching the status of the wheels. They appear fine, but sometimes the case doesnt feel right when Im pulling it behind me. Im worried that the weight of my books might be putting more strain on the wheels than this case was built for so I will update this review if anything changes.

This has survived many long days of both teaching full-time and going to school at the same time, so in my experience, this is a durable product. Given that I only use physical copies of textbooks at work, the capacity is more than acceptable; I can fit two textbooks, extra handouts, and all of my current student papers in this bag. Even with all of that in the bag, I have room to spare for my tablet (which contains my own textbooks for school) and a variety of personal items to help me survive long days away from the house in comfort. One nice feature of the bag is the telescoping handle by which you pull it. Besides the obvious convenience of the handle only taking up space when you need it, this kind of handle allows me to slip my lunch bag securely over that handle, just as I could with a rolling suitcase. Given that I bring lunch, dinner, and snacks with me when I leave the house, being able to conveniently secure a large lunch bag right on my briefcase is pretty important to me. If youre having trouble picturing how this works, take a look at the pictures of the eBags Crew Cooler II here: https://www.amazon.com/eBags-Crew-Cooler-II/dp/B004C140ZO Besides using this during the week for work and school, I also use it for a laptop bag as needed for weekend meetings, and the padded compartment that secures my laptop is still in good condition after quite some time of using it for a heavy textbook instead.

I travel often for work, so a rolling bag with collapsible handle is a must. The handle failed at 15 months. I actually took it apart to see what failed. The button at the top just pushes down on 2 rods on either side to release the ball locks. On the one side this rod wore away the hole that keeps it aligned to the button. So when you push the button down the rod just moves to the side now. Making the handle unusable. So, if you raise and lower the handle a lot. This will happen as metal is rubbing on plastic. 2nd issue with the bag is the back compartment is just one big compartment (actually the very bottom is open to the mid compartment. So, things just move around and sometimes moves into the center compartment. The fabric, wheels, and zipper are all fine. Will not be replacing it with the same bag.

I travel locally for work. I use this to carry my laptop, charger, 3-ring binder, several folders, lots of pens, pencils, mouse pad and mouse. This review came for the second one I purchased for a co-worker a month or so ago. I’ve had mine for over 2 years and that’s what I’m basing my rating off.

Quality materials, but after using other AmazonBasics bags, I was expecting more internal structure and device protection. Anything in the back pocket gets mashed against the metal arms of the extending handle, not great. A good bag, but it just feels, well, cheap. Again, I have a few other styles of AmazonBasics bags, particularly laptop messenger bags, and they offer great device support and functional layout, but this bag just doesnt quite make the cut. Your laptop sits sort of dead center, which is a great thing for protection, but the bottom is too hard, doesnt protect from bumps very well. Once laptop is in place, the other pouches just feel like you cant put anything in them, like there is not enough room or that theyll get your laptop. Like I say, I dont want to give a low rating because I dont like this bag, but, I dont like this bag. Its solid and will serve me well in other ways, but I wont be putting my laptop in it.

yes you get what you pay for....this was inexpensive and it shows in the design and construction The lightweight zipper I wont expect to last very long It really needs more pockets and easily accessible ones The pull out handle feels flimsy and the carry handle is akward to use as it flops over the back and is not one padded strap rather 2 sling type straps... It will do for now but I expect to need a new one sooner than expected... Sorry for the bad review but you asked for honesty

This bag rolls really smooth very good size for paperwork and a laptop. The handle worried me in the beginning being so loose as I wheel it around but I get it. If the handle was too stiff it would break faster. So this bag works well for me every day.
