This CPU is awesome even with all the Alder Lake competition. Benched on Passmark at 47306.2 coupled with DDR4 at 3600mhz and a AIO cooler. My primary use is gaming but got the horsepower to last years and work tasks when needed.

Assuming you have the correct socket type this is a very easy install and it works great

Its fast and almost a bit more than I need for gaming & work but, with this cpu I never have a lingering feeling of needing test things over and over due to a bottle neck. I was worried to how hot it ran but, after letting the thermal paste settle in, the Noctua chromax air cooling I have keeps Temps pretty low!

5950x absolutely shreds any workload thrown at it! Video encoding, gaming, Adobe Premier scrubbing... have yet to find something too hard. Massive improvement over Ryzen 7 1700x. Definitely get this during one of the frequent sales

Used this for gaming and the upgrade is impressive, no need to overlook this beauty, we all hopped on a bus and ran over Intel, lets go razer, your showing the haters whos king, Nvidia better watch out

I built a workstation 2 1/2 years ago with the 3950x with exceptional components in it, as a programmers workstation with Hyper-V. So both single-core and multi-core performance is important. The benchmark numbers show a 29% single thread increase in lab tests but that also shows in real life. Its worth the upgrade in sense of performance. Ill sell the 3950x or use it in another build. The 5950x extends the life of this premium build.

I used to care about my CPU usage. Why is svchost using 13% all the time? Why is TiWorker using 25%? Why is Taskmgr using 0% one second and 3% the next? What about all those Chrome tabs? Modern computers are such resource hogs!!
