AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-core, 32-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor

I upgraded from a 2700x.

This CPU is phenomenal. I have it paired with an asus strix x570 board, g.skill neo 3600mhz 128gb ram, msi rtx 3060 12gb(only thing I could get my hands on) and with a h170i liquid cooler. This thing shreads anything thrown at it. I am still trying to find something that will throw it past 60% cpu usage. And even at 60%, you dont notice a thing. Everything is ultra fast and responsive.

My rating is for the product, not ad or seller. I was able to purchase this off of amd website. I paid $550 excluding tax. Please dont buy this at such a ridiculous price. Let the scalpers eat the cost. Also redemption for far cry 6 ended 1/30/2021 so that promo is done. This chip is more than i need. I have had zero issues so far. My only gripe is the availability and people using bots to scalp.

Mark up is high. great for productivity. Id get 5900 for most non edge case scenarios though given the price difference. It has more cache per core, and that shows in a lot of workloads. Intel is also more compelling now thankfully.

I upgraded from a Ryzen 3800X to get faster performance in some heavily multithreaded code. It is indeed much faster, though I needed both better memory and a better CPU cooler. All in all, a good deal if you actually need the performance. Most people would be just as happy with a Ryzen 3600 for a fraction of the cost.

Putting a Warranty request to AMD.

Make sure you order pc parts individually or else you wont get any protective foam or air pouches. Its not like electronics/ computer parts can be easily damaged. Will update review accordingly if damaged during shipping.

Pretty decent handling and the temps aren’t too bad. Can run hot at times so want to make sure you have a decent amount of air flow.
