Not going to cool a whole room but if you freeze the pad it definitely helps keeps a personal bubble of coolness for a good amount of time

Tldr: its just a fan that doesnt blow hot air on a hot night. cool air, not freezing on tap water. Put a bottle in the tank to make it last longer than 3 hours. I have a 1 sq feet room. On a usual night around summer time my room is hot and humid enough to build sweat on the body part laying on the bed. It takes about 1 hour of cold tap water to lower the room temp enough so I dont sweat on the bed but I still feel kind of sticky. The seller claims that the product can shoot a water mist for 10 hours but in 1 hour on high mist it has already used up 1/3 of the water tank. Even if I set it to low mist I highly doubt it would last 10 hours. Thats why I put a bottle in the tank to supply water by cutting a half inch hole on the side of the cap. Now thats 10 hours! Its also a bad idea to step out of the room since it immedeality resets the cooling process, 1 hour wasted. So if you gotta pee or you farted too much, turning your room into a room of death... suffer or stay cool. The choice is yours.... well. I mean you can always point the air at yourself for maximum effect which ultimately keeps you cool throughout the usage but I dont like having an air flow at me when Im sleeping, I always wake up with a headache. I give it 3 stars because it does work but its not mind blowing. perfect if youre a cheapskate and you dont mind being a little sticky.

Believe me I know and understand HVAC, I purchased this unit because the marking guy made it sound more powerful than it really is. I tried using ICE and very little water and vice versa, It cools a small space directly around it...Approx 5ft. but will not cool a SUV where you could leave your dog in it even for a short time. The unit is quality but has very limited cooling capacity.

Comparing the negative reviews to the positive reviews to my own experience, its pretty clear that most of the people giving this thing a bad review didnt realize what they were actually buying. This will NOT air condition your entire house. Its basically just a small fan that blows colder air than a regular fan at you. Like regular fans, that means will not cool off your entire house or apartment, but it will keep the area in front of it cool. And its amazing! We put it on the ottoman in front of the couch while watching tv, and having a regular floor fan behind us with this thing in front was way cooling, much better than the fan by itself. Its not going to replace an actual air conditioner on a super hot day, but its got just enough cooling power to be really helpful if you cant use an a/c (maybe because you live in an apartment and technically arent allowed to have one, or you cant afford to buy one because yiiiiikes theyre expensive). But its really helpful for if a fan just isnt enough to cool you down. Also because of its small size, I find I prefer using it to fans when its a little cooler out. Sometimes fans are obnoxious, theyre loud, they blow things over, but this little thing doesnt have the blowing power to knock all your papers off your desk like a big floor fan does. I like to just have it on the ottoman blowing on my propped-up feet. Its supreme. I see some people complaining about how you cant turn the lights off, but you can. You need to keep hitting the light button, you have to cycle through all the light options but theres an off option at the end of them. The lights that indicate what settings are on dont turn off, but theyre really minor - like, they arent really bright. I especially like that this thing is small enough that it wont be hard to store somewhere in winter when it presumably wont be needed, unlike those big oscillating fans which are awkward to find a place for. Cons: On the highest settings its kind of noisy, but its a steady noise level so its easy to learn to tune out and turn the tv volume up over. Also the plug for it gets EXTREMELY hot after its been on. I dont think its necessarily a fire hazard, but I would give it a few minutes after you turn it off before you unplug it from the wall. All in all, if you know what to expect from this little guy, you will really enjoy it and appreciate it. Dont go into this thinking its a $35 air conditioner that will put your entire home into the arctic circle. It will give a nice cold blast to the area about 6 feet in front of it, which cools more efficiently than a fan but isnt as effective as an actual air conditioner. This guy is an air *cooler*. Side note: Youre encouraged to put ice cubes in the fill thing, and it can take an entire tray of ice cubes to fill it up!

I had bought this for my husband who is an over the road truck driver because his bunk air conditioning went out in his truck. I dont know if he will want to deal with soaking the filter in water and then filling it up with water but if hes hot enough, I guess he will. I tried it out in the downstairs of our house which is roughly 1,000 square feet. I had our downstairs central air set on 73° and I turned on the Artic Air in the kitchen, after soaking the filter in water, then placing it in the freezer for about thirty minutes, then filling the artic air with cold refrigerated water. After about twenty minutes, it had the temperature in our kitchen down to 69°. I have a picture of the thermometer in the picture. The top number is the outside temperature with the humidity amount and the bottom number is the inside temperature with the inside humidity amount. I was impressed with the way the little machine worked but I honestly dont think my husband will want to go through all of the steps necessary to make it work the best but it would definitely do the job if he does decide to use it!!

I live in Southern Louisiana and I have a very small , cramped bathroom that gets unbearably hot during the summer months. A pregular fan wasn’t helping at all and I wanted to try something different , but cost effective . This little a/c is perfect . I wet the filter then pop it in the freezer for about 15 mins and then add ice water into the basin and I’m able to shower and get ready for work comfortably ! It’s a simple , cost efficient way to cool down the small room . !

It does a great job for what it’s designed to do. However, it can’t keep up with dissipating the mist it makes, so it often dribbles out of the front or rear. Put a towel or plate under it and it should be fine. Would not recommend putting on real wood or veneer surfaces.

This is a great cooler!! It works especially well if youre at your office desk and it feels a little warm in your office. I get hot easily so my need for cool air is constant. I work with someone and we share a desk; but it only cools me and doesnt effect the other person. I reiterate what has been said before; it will not cool off a whole room. In general, it works well if you are going to be sitting or just being in one place for a long period of time such as a desk or maybe watching TV. Although the information on the product says you dont have to refill it for 10 hours; Ive noticed that every 4 to 5 hours it gets a little low and I have to put a little more water in it. But, due to the size, obviously the water requirements are very light. A small to medium-sized cup usually serves the purpose. Another feature not mentioned in the info of this product is that it can run on a power bank. It uses a USB C connection; so, if you either dont have easy access to an outlet or want to see if you can save electricity, just purchase a USB cable with a USB C connection that will plug into a power bank. Of course, there is the wall adapter option as well. A third up side is the ability to remove the cartridge, soak with water and chill it in your freezer. There is a noticeable increasing in cooling when I do this. I would recommend it as long as you remember that it will only cool off a small space such as your desk or your bed.
