Ive been using this thermal compound since its release, and I wouldnt recommend anything else.

I was looking for Zalman and Noctua coolers as I was experiencing overheating but I did run out of this stuff here as well in the process of testing different CPU on different motherboards. Well, I realized I should be using big cheap paste for testing purposes and I found a Cooler master white paste for $10 but for normal use I noticed everyone is talking Arctic MX-4 and the fact it is electrically non conductive too. I got to one inch of buying it but I had no reason to abandon Arctic Silver 5, after so many years it was a good friend who did not let me down. It is like your favorite beer, you get attached to.

I will not buy any other product but arctic silver. I use my home PC as a crypto mining rig so components run hot. This stuff helps keep it cooler. It only decreases the temps about 5C to 7C under semi high to medium load, but do realize that as you increase the load on your components to their maximum potential, the arctic silver capability reduces, at least in my experience. The reduction I mentioned earlier dropped to about 3C when I maximized the load on my components.

You dont need this size unless you replace a lot of CPUs, a 3g tube will do about 30 surfaces, you need very little. I used up two 3g tubes over a two year period so opted to have a better supply. With a combination of cooper shims and this compound, I can get a 30%-50% reduction in the average operating temperature of a laptop and it never dries out.

This is the reference standard for heatsink compound... Thats why there are so many reviews. If you are ordering parts to build a new PC (or rebuilding an old PC), you need this stuff when you install the CPU heatsink. Some heatsinks will come with some similar heatsink compound... clean it off and use this instead.

Most of the thermal grease or compound that comes either pre-applied or with a cooler is like wet toothpaste when applied. This stuff is like liquid silver. You barely even need a dot to cover an entire surface and it works very well. It is dense and conducts heat like there is no threshold between your equipment and the block. I dont have the differences in numbers to share, but I can tell you that my CPU is sitting at 27°C right now with a $30 air cooler.

Excellent TIM and doesnt dry out. Been using it for many years and its still my go to choice. It is hard to clean up but it spreads nicely and had excellent thermal conductivity. Id recommend getting a set of Arctic Silver thermal material remover and thermal surface purifier with this. It really helps clean your surfaces as well as getting this stuff off when you change processors/coolers.
