There are a whole bunch of fancy features in this thing to bump up the price that are irrelevant for most uses, besides say, a hair dryer. Your car battery outputs 12 volts DC, but your electronics device is only going to use 5 volts DC. This device converts the 12 volts DC to 120 volts AC, only so that it can then be converted back to 5 volts DC by your device. So basically its switching from DC to high AC and back for no reason. Or rather, there is a reason: so that they can sell you a big box full of stuff for $25 rather than the simple $5 wire you actually need. ....if you just plan on using digital or basic electronics devices in the car this device is way overkill. ftr im not an electrical engineer but i have built functional car chargers before

I bought this device to use to charge my laptop while on a roadtrip. It worked great. My plug to my laptop got really hot after charging for so long. I ended up unpluging it not knowing it would damage my plug and/or laptop. Overall would recommend this product.

Works great. We used it on a road trip and I was able to use my double electric breast pump and charge our cell phones at the same time. It does have a slight hum to it but we could barely hear it over the radio. Feels pretty heavy duty and it got bumped around a lot with no damage or dings. Id recommend this to family and friends.

The cord is a bit small to reach from front of trucks to the back seats. Also, this died after two years of minimal usage. Looking for a different brand now.

This worked fine for electronics, I went camping with a friend and unfortunately we overestimated its ability and tried to use it to power my magic bullet type mixer...that didnt go well. It blew out the car adapter within 3 seconds of trying to use it. To be fair the bullet was on the high end of its power spectrum but I was hoping that because the number is still indicated on the device, that it would actually be able to power it....lesson learned, always assume its weaker than advertised.

I got this mostly for emergency use when the Big One hits California. It also is adequate for light usage during camping. At $25 it beats all of the smaller units.

I wanted an alternative power supply for my truck. This item was reasonably-priced and online reviewers posted helpful reviews, videos, and comments, so I could get a good sense of quality and capability. Its worked great -- the few times Ive needed it -- but it would not power just anything. I can effortlessly blow up the inflatable mattress for camping, along with a few other light duty tasks. When I tried to charge my 80V chainsaw battery, it choked, so thats a couple of stars off.

This is a perfect power inverter to carry in a vehicle for emergency use. I bought it to use in a camper that I have, and like it so much I keep it in my truck all of the time.

great for camping. never had an issue with it not working or overheating. yeah the fan comes on, but to have the convenience of this while miles from anywhere....dont complain!! :-) love this little power pack. mine did come as pictured, I know some people said theirs didnt have the USB ports - that sucks, but mine has it and Ive never even used them. Both of our vehicles have USB ports to charge those items, so does our phone charger.
