Pleased with this printer, and for such a small price, it more than compensates for any shortcomings!

DO NOT FORGET CABLE! Youll need it and Amazon has a 6ft. Belkin for less than $5.00 with free shipping. You will pay over $20.00 for the same cable at the office supply stores. I checked. Using the EASY button is expensive. The print quality and color is excellent. This is an outstanding printer for the price which is actually less than two sets of cartridges. It takes longer than I expected to warm up. There is no SLEEP mode. It is either on or off. During the warm up period, unless it is in QUIET mode, it sounds like an angry raccoon trapped in a utility closet and will cause every cat in the house to flee for their lives. QUIET mode is a permanent setting around here. It is stylish and compact. The LED command console provides clear and concise controls for stand-alone copying. A good value and a dependable brand make this a great buy.

I dont think I have ever written a negative review in my life, but for this product I will make an exception. The printer never realizes when it has paper in it and if it does it often jams. I see that this is a common problem from other reviews. Also the scanner would not work on the first one so we returned it but the scanner does not work on the new one either. The most frustrating part is the paper feeder which takes about 10-20 tries of reloading the paper to get it to work. Save yourself the time and hassle of this machine and you will add a few years of free time to your life.

Do a search for error codes Pixma on the net. Youll find out. I know for a fact that some can be fixed through the internal computer on the printers but Canon hides the fact to squeeze you.

The price on this printer was great, I bought it just to print a newsletter that I send out every month. I used to print this on a Pixma IP3500 and used 2 1/2 black cartridges at $13 each. This one used 4 cartridges at over $20 each! Id have trouble recommending this one, the cheap price will be quickly made up by the cost of the ink!

Pros: Pretty good printer for the price. I needed an inexpensive printer with a small footprint to take along on RV trips and this one fits the bill. Price for ink is OK. Excellent copy funtion and very good scanning. Photo printing is OK but not as good as my MP610 with individual ink tanks and 1 picoliter print head. Cons: Looks like a roaster oven. No individual ink tanks for color. Very noisy. Construction a bit flimsy but fit and finish is good, like all Canon products.

I couldnt believe that his printer/copier/scanner performed so well for such a small cost. It is a superb value and a most satisfying printer, easily installed and works like a charm. It has my full endorsemant. Bravo to Canon and Amazon.

For the money, this is a dandy home printer for the non demanding. It gets the job done. Ive tried printing 8x10 pictures, and I saw about what I expected. If I want higher quality pictures printed, I need to spend more money, end of story there. But for basics, its just fine. Use the larger cartridges though. It is a tad thirsty, but not unreasonably so. UPDATE 10-02-2012: This printer/scanner still works flawlessly. Its a little slow but, it has NEVER let me down.
