Greater than one weekThe title just about says it all. The quality of this printer is fine. Ive owned many printers in my life, but this is by far the biggest ink hog I have ever had.

> 3 dayReceived this printer with the I-Mac. We like the features e.g., copy & scan. However, as noted in other reviews, this printer eats up the ink. If we were printing more B & W, I definitely would consider a laser printer.

> 3 dayI brought this printer from someone who owned it for a few months. This printer is durable. My printer survived being dropped a few times, moved to storage for a year, and then being used for a year after that. However, the computer connection piece broke forcing me to buy a new printer. I can still use the printer as a scanner and copy machine though...

> 3 dayI am a college student and I have this printer in my room and I love it. I get a lot of printing for the ink and the ink is not killer expensive either. Its just overall a good buy. Plus it has a scanner/copier in it and both work very well also!

> 3 dayDo a search for error codes Pixma on the net. Youll find out. I know for a fact that some can be fixed through the internal computer on the printers but Canon hides the fact to squeeze you.

> 3 dayHave had this printer for about a year. Worked well enough until we upgraded Mac operating system to Snow Leopard OSX 10.6.2 - then things started to go wrong. Printer required new driver download and still wont print accurately. Print preview shows documents in correct format, but printer spins an extra blank page and wont print text with correct spacing from letterhead. Also encounter other problems with Mac/Pixma interface, but wont detail them all. Dont know if problems are caused by Snow Leopard or Canon. Apparently they are not made for each other. Gobbles ink, but it printed nicely until the Canon/Mac interface failed.

Greater than one weekinitially, I though the product came without a power cord and also the USB cord, I was wrong and found both of them tucked inside with the printer ink. The USB cord was a y cord and I plugged them both in. Set up was easy and automatic. I have an HP 8.1 computer and there was no problem in set up which was for Vista. If you do not have a internal rom drive, an external drive is needed to use the set up disk. Print went well immediately. Time will tell how long the printer will work and how well. My old cannon printer lasted many years and I am hoping this one will too. Just like my old printer this one makes noises too, but I do not care it does not bother me, but it might be annoying to some. The instruction manual was clear and detailed. I read some reviewers got duds, and that is terrible, and might be due to a lack of quality control.

> 3 dayI just using it as a scanner. It has the best function Ive never seen before which can scanner a book as one pdf fire and just using one button.

> 3 dayThe printer itself is decent. Its relatively attractive and easy to use. The quality of copies and photos is fine. Its noisier and slower than Id prefer, but I can live with that. What I cant live with is a printer that goes through ink so fast that I surpassed the cost of the printer after the third ink refill, and I buy the XL size refills! I find myself being extremely judicious about printing anything to try and conserve the short life of these cartridges. Dont buy it. No printer is worth this much inconvenience or money.
