I normally get carefresh but have the good stuff on subscription. It was time to change my bunnys bedding and the subscription wasnt coming for 5 more days, so I got something that I could get delivered the next day. I thought it would be a safe bet to get the carefresh bedding even though I knew it probably wasnt going to be as good as the normal stuff. This stuff is crap! When I opened the bag, it smelled bad-kind of like vinegar, but I didnt have any other option than to use it. It didnt spread out and fluff up at all. What normally would cover the entire cage only covered half-and this stuff is hard-almost like rocks or large pieces of bark. I definitely wont buy this stuff again and I will have to pay better attention to my supplies so I dont have to buy crap like this again!

I liked that it was unbleached as our pet rat has skin sensitivity to more heavily processed bedding. Unfortunately this product was inconsistent. The first package we got was fine, but subsequent ones had a strange odor right out of the package. It was also quite scratchy and our rat didnt seem to like it.

Carefresh bedding for rabbit / Guinea is by far the best product I have used for our 2 Guinea pigs. The product is a little larger which means less bedding outside the cage. The product itself does not have an odor but controls urine odor excellent. I can go a few days before the bedding becomes wet to the touch. It expands with little effort and it does not bother my asthma. Definitely give this product a try.

First time using this specific kind of bedding and I hated it. Used for two guinea pigs and as soon as I started breaking it up and spreading it out I realized how terrible it smells, even after washing my hands couldn’t get the smell off. Not sure if I got a bad batch but I won’t be buying this kind again.

The consistency, feel is not great, seems very cheap compared to other beddings. Still decent though, it does the job.
