The Crucial drive was super easy to install into my A1278 Macbook Pro. I purchased this alongside memory from another manufacturer. The difference in performance is night & day. I did the RAM first, and then tried out the laptop. While it did perform much quicker, switching from HDD to SSD made a significant difference in response to action requests, boot-up, etc. Considering my hard drive was 8 years old, it was important for me (returning college student) to have a reliable hard drive. With the SSD lacking mechanical parts, it seemed like the wise choice. So far, I have no complaints at all. When I purchase a new laptop (not a Macbook as they are no longer user upgradable) -- I will likely purchase another SSD to replace the inevitable HDD that will come with the laptop. I would not hesitate to utilize Crucial drives again.

Used this drive to upgrade an older MacBook Pro from a 500GB HDD to 500GB SSD. The laptop now boots-up in seconds instead of minutes. Well worth the money.

I read several reviews that put this brand/model at the top of the list. As I was replacing some old SSDs which did not work as needed, and was pleased with the price and size. One was used for extra storage (instead of mechanical drive) and the other was replacing a dead SSD on a 5 year old PC that tended to be on a lot. Very Happy!

I have been using it for a month. It saved my 6-year-old MacBook Pro. It was so low and now is so fast. I even upgraded it to the new High Sierra system and it is still very smooth. It is very easy to install on MacBook but you need two kinds of screw drivers. Definitely worth it. Highly recommended!
