The problem was actually with the Macbook logic board, not the Crucial SSD. I replaced the logic board. My MacOS starts up normally now and all of my data is still intact.

Brought this as I was running out of space on my 250gb ssd does the job but I dont work it hard as I only use it for Windows operating system and a few files.

My laptop hard drive had failed and this SSD was the perfect solution and got me back up and running. Laptop is massively more efficient and quicker to boot up and all applications open really quick.

Ive got far too many laptops and so hand them down to my children when they are old and clunky. I bought a Lenovo G580 in March 2012 with an i3 processor, 500gb hdd and 4gb of ram. I immediately upped that to 8gb of ram and used the computer quite happily. After a few years this laptop was superseded by another and so it sat in a cupboard for a while. About 2 years ago I discovered it and gave it to one of my younger children who played on it for a while but the machine slowed and slowed until it was painful.

Totally changed my 2011 MacBook Pro. It’s like a brand new computer.

Nachdem ich die erste SSD dieses Typs erfolgreich in einem nagelneuen Asus Laptop verbaut hatte, sollte auch gleich noch meine ältere zbox damit versorgt werden. Was beim neuen Laptop vollkommen unkompliziert war, also alte Platte raus, dd auf neue Platte, ein paar Fixups mit gparted, läuft, stellte sich als größere Hürde bei der zbox dar. Windows 10 ließ sich zwar installieren, stürzte beim ersten Start aber immer ab. Das gleiche System auf eine alte HD übertragen startete völlig problemlos. Also erstmal die Firmware der SSD aktualisiert. Immer noch Bluescreen beim ersten Start. Und die SSD wurde heiß. Irgendwann, nach langen Suchen im Netz, bin ich dann drauf gekommen, daß es womöglich der Nvidia nForce Chipsatz der zbox sein könnte. Also den offiziellen WHQL Treiber, der ausdrücklich nicht für Windows 10 freigegeben ist, heruntergeladen und bei Installation mit Treiber hinzufügen eingespielt. Und Voila, das Ding startet. Ähnliches Problem in der Systemsteuerung, wo ein unbekannter Koprozessor angezeigt wird. Auch da müssen die alten Win7 Treiber eigespielt werden. Aber das hat nichts mit der Festplatte zu tun, außer vielleicht, daß Windows danach deutlich schneller läuft.
