> 3 dayI really enjoyed this book and its premise. What WOULD happen if you turned an animal, ANY animal really, into a human without warning? How would the animal think? React? Would it eventually come to find its human body in some ways superior to its animal one, or would it always want to turn back into its former self? What if it was a domestic animal such as a dog or, as in this case, a horse? Would it still carry that love for its master? Could its master accept its new form? Would something more form? Just a few questioned spawned by the first half of this book. The second half was no less exciting to read, but it was mostly your standard sword and sorcery. Lady/Jess was such a great and compelling character. The other characters were mere satellites around her, even Carey. I loved this book and look forward to reading the next in the series.

> 3 dayA glorious blend of fantasy, mystery, and romance. From a land where magic is commonplace to our own world ( where I believe magic to exist ) and back again, revealing that some things are always the same. If you love fantasy or stories about horses you cant go wrong with this one.

Greater than one weekis the statement of the belief that the real difference between humans and animals is simply a matter of complexity and simplicity of mind. Anyone who has spent time seriously observing dogs, cats, horses, pigs or other domesticated animals behaviors knows that these beings who are so different from humans in form are quite similar in our basic needs, emotions and wants. This novel explores this concept via Dun Ladys Jesss transformations from horse to human and back again. This story is written in much the same spirit as Richard Adams Watership Down or Erin Hunters Warrior series and is as intriguing a read as those works.

> 3 dayLoved this book. Have already read half of Book Two and plan to buy Book 3. I am not normally a fantasy book reader but I always notice horses being a lifelong lover of and owner of horses most of my life. Just quirky enough to really be interesting to me. Am so glad Ms. Durgin was able to regain control of Book One.

Greater than one weekThis is a wonderful book full of magic and spells and even some romance. Dun Ladys Jess is a horse that belongs to Carey, a courier for a good wizard sent on a run to deliver important documents. On the way theyre attacked and suddenly transported to our dimension where Jess awakens as a woman. Her reaction and that of the people that befriend her is told in a completely believable way. If youre a fan of wizards, spells, danger and a little romance, this is highly recommended. Ms Durgin does a great job of bringing other worlds to life and making a horse changing into a woman completely believable. Five stars for this one.

Greater than one weekIf you are looking for book that is fun to read and does not have any parts that lag, purchase Dun Ladys Jess. It is an imaginative, well-written book that will keep you entertained the entire time you are reading it. Hard to put down. The the storyline concept and thought put into the book made it one that I will think about for a long time. This would be a good book for someone that doesnt know if they think they like fantasy but would like to try it. The characters are believable and the action non-stop. Ive ready two other titles by this author and cant say Ive been disappointed yet. I will be reading more of her work this summer!
