> 3 dayAs a horse lover, I appreciate the way the author carefully crafts in believable horsie behavior in the character, regardless of Jess/Ladys external appearance. This is the first book in a trilogy, but it is complete in itself. You WILL want to read more and get the other two books to continue with Jess/Ladys adventures.

> 3 dayI really enjoyed this book and its premise. What WOULD happen if you turned an animal, ANY animal really, into a human without warning? How would the animal think? React? Would it eventually come to find its human body in some ways superior to its animal one, or would it always want to turn back into its former self? What if it was a domestic animal such as a dog or, as in this case, a horse? Would it still carry that love for its master? Could its master accept its new form? Would something more form? Just a few questioned spawned by the first half of this book. The second half was no less exciting to read, but it was mostly your standard sword and sorcery. Lady/Jess was such a great and compelling character. The other characters were mere satellites around her, even Carey. I loved this book and look forward to reading the next in the series.

Greater than one weekI thought the idea of a horse consciousness in a human body was a fascinating concept. It is well written, there were some good words that I had never read before and had to look up, and the dialogue between characters is well done. It is an adventure while overcoming language/psychological barriers.

> 3 dayI enjoyed the story of Jess, a horse who turns into a human when she lands in Ohio with the help of magic. I like how conflicted Jess is when learning to be a human woman. I like that the author portrayed her feelings, speech and mannerisms in both an equine and human way. Very well-written. I wish however that this story was wrapped up and Jess given her happily ever after. I would have continued the series anyway. Lots of action, suspense and a bit of romantic feelings but no action. Very clean.

Greater than one weekAs far as I know, a good story with a very unique concept. A light, entertaining read but with the unusual , to me anyway, story-line. The author made it work along with enough action, adventure, even a hint of humor, romance and a Lottie magic. Again, very readable.

> 3 dayLoved this book. Have already read half of Book Two and plan to buy Book 3. I am not normally a fantasy book reader but I always notice horses being a lifelong lover of and owner of horses most of my life. Just quirky enough to really be interesting to me. Am so glad Ms. Durgin was able to regain control of Book One.

Greater than one weekI enjoyed parts of this book, not so much the beginning quarter of it. The worst part was the extremely poor editing. Many letters and words left out. And at one point the girl/horse shakes her man, instead of mane. I may have laughed at that, except the entire book was full of irritating parts like that. Possibly the worst part was the introduction in which the author stated she had opportunity to change the Kindle edition and improve it from the printed copy. I am very happy I did not read the printed version if the Kindle book was better.
