Love these nesting squares. Our free range hens are dirty roosters and track all sorts of things into the coop. I love these nesting squares because after a week or two you just peel the paper backing off the squares and toss them out in the garden composting pile. The material is great for wild bird nesting materials too. Plop another pad down in the nesting box and youre all set with clean eggs and happy chicks. A little pricey but it saves so much time cleaning nesting boxes!

My hens love these and they keep egg breakage to a minimum.

The hens seem to like these much more than usual straw and some pins shavings. Whereas the hens would kick the straw and pine shavings out of their nesting boxes, they dont seem eager to try and remove these mats. Its been less than a week since the switch, but 3 of the 4 hens are using the nesting box more, while the other 4th, more neurotic of the bunch still likes to lay her eggs out somewhere on the property. But so far, this seems to be a big improvement. Not sure of the value issue yet; but that the hens like these mats more is a plus. Will update the review after a few more months.

Keeps eggs cleaner and intact

My chickens ALWAYS kicked all the hay out of their boxes and then cracked their eggs on the bottom. Cant do that with these! Worked perfect!

I’ve used a couple of other brands that make these same nest pads before I tried these. The others seemed to last much longer, I barely get a month out of these Eaton Pet and Pasture pads before I have to change them out for new ones. I’m switching back to my old brand. I’m not impressed.

My chickens shred them and make their own designer nest. The pads don’t stay pretty and flat. I’m fine with that!

They main thing I want to share with these is my hens no longer scratch the straw out of the boxes. I put them in first then a little straw and it keeps everything in the box. I only did 4 stars as they are a bit pricey but they do work!
