This 30amp surge protector is more than just that. It provides the user with valuable information regarding the wiring status of the electric supply. As you can see in the picture, the surge protector is stamped with the UL approved seal. The various light configurations give you real time power supply status. This is a must have, lots of parks have substandard hookups. This will analyze the circuit you connect to and provide the user with valuable information before hooking your expensive RV to the power supply. Always, I mean always, hook this surge protector to the power supply before attaching your 30amp RV plug to it. Device worked very well. Bright lights to tell circuit is working properly. Weatherproof case kept connection dry during thunderstorms. Also bright orange color is easy to spot when packing up so you don’t forget it at site.

I’ve used it 3-4 time and it seems to works well. It let know that the plug was loose and I was able to get the plug fixed because it kept detecting a fault

Updated review: I ended up replacing the plug on my electrical cord and the new plug plugs in fine. Apparently the problem was with the plug and not the surge protector. The unit seems well built and sturdy and its giving me peace of mind as I dont trust the electrical supply in my current campground. Original review: It looks like a nice unit, but apparently Im not strong enough to plug in my travel trailers power cord. I finally gave up and will return.
