> 3 dayGot a bad one. Worked like crazy trying to figure out the issue and on board video was working some but not always. Sent it back and got another that works amazing. Water coolers dont have the correct spacer for this chip but I checked the website and got one for under 10. So factor that into your water cooling cost.

> 3 dayI had been planning to hold off for Raptor Lake, but my Z370 mobo died, and I decided to go ahead and get an Alder Lake i7. So far its impressive. It runs much cooler than my i9-9900k (mild OC) ( 59C-63C under a gaming load vs 75C+) but that couldve been due to the my old AIO being in its death throws for the past few months. 3DMark CPU score went up noticeably as well. Overall, Im pretty happy with it. Havent messed around with overclocking yet, but there doesnt seem to be as much headroom left as there used to be, from what Ive read 5.3 Ghz is about what you can expect. The days of getting another 800Mhz - 1 Ghz+ over stock clocks out of a CPU are gone it seems.

> 3 dayIntel obviously isnt a slouch when it comes to processors. However, this one really hits the sweet spot between performance and price. Well see what happens when AMD releases the Ryzen 7000 series later this year, but if you dont want to wait, generally prefer Intel, and dont want to spring for an i9, this processor will absolutely take what you can throw at it.

> 3 daythe CPU works great and is super fast. i didnt really want to pay for the latest and greatest, mainly because i have found that a 10% increase can add 50% to the price of the CPU. one thing to watch out for, there is no cooling fan in this package, so you have to buy one. you can get the CPU with a fan, but its a different part number. personally, even though it cost more to buy the fan separately, i believe the Noctua cooler i got will work much better than anything Intel provides.

> 3 dayI undervolted the CPU -0.12 offset which lowered core package from 73c to 62c at 141W in Cinebench R23 for 22957 score (which is average for a 12700k). Watched videos from JayzTwoCents and The Tech Thing Guy on undervolting. One thing that you WILL run into if you plan on liquid cooling with any of the big brand AIOs is that they all say LGA 1700 compatible but none of them actually ship with the LGA 1700 bracket for some reason, you have to turn around and contact the company and theyll send you a free bracket in 2-6 weeks. Thats why I ended up getting the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360 (which turned out to be amazingly great, check the review on Gamers Nexus), because you can buy the free LGA 1700 bracket for $7 here on Amazon and skip all the hassle/delay of getting one sent for free afterwards.

Greater than one weekThe 12700k easily crushes anything I throw at it, was debating between this and the 5800X but this was cheaper at the time and performs better.
