I had an issue with one of those mini plugs. I contacted support asking for help they solved it. It was a long process, but I got the replacement and now all of them are working as expected. I gotta thank Sylvia for guiding me through this process, she was just amazing. Thanks TP-Link for making my life easier with all these products

Only wish I had found these sooner. Purchased when I saw the name TP-Link who is behind this Kasa brand apparently. TP-Link is renowned for making top tier wifi devices. After taking the one minute to set these up with the instructions in box, these things can reconnect back to my wifi after being unplugged within seconds of being put back in. (I use a starlink router so results may vary). My best devices struggle to do that. Connectivity is absolute top tier. On to the performance aspect, youll want to download the Kasa app on your phone and do a quick setup. There are certain premade settings and theres also a sort of programming (much easier than the real thing) you can do to personalize the function of whatever you have plugged in. Want your coffee machine to turn on to start brewing a batch for you before work? No problem. Want a lightbulb to turn on a bit before your alarm as a sunrise alarm? Sure, just add it into the Scene with the coffee maker and make it even easier. Or go ahead and buy one of their cheap Kasa color changing lightbulbs and pick your sunrise color while your at it. With one click you can have your entire back porch and yard set up to entertain guests, no hunting for power buttons or light switches. Tons of possibilities, all yours to choose. The biggest problems with smart devices these days is they all want to do their own thing, with their own firmware, constant fighting for internet usage, and seemingly needing to be reset endlessly just to stay connected. There should be a standard, and Ill let mine be Kasa.

Actually pretty easy to set up. Challenge to the pros, get at me when you set up 3 at once ;). 1. Install TP-Links Kasa app on your phone. 2. In the app, click the + to add a Smart Plug, then Smart Plug Lite / Mini 3. Plug in 1 of these into the wall, it should start flashing blue and orange without you touching it. 4. After a time, the app will prompt you to join the smart plugs network *note* Each plug has its own WiFi network at first youll need to connect to wirelessly using your phone. This is a different network than your existing home wireless network. 4.1. the plugs default network will be called something like Smart_Plug_0123 5. After connecting your mobile to THAT network, return to the Kasa app so it can speak to this device wirelessly. 6. After initial talks between the plug and your phone, the app will prompt you to teach the plug which WiFi network it should use instead of its own default network. Specify your home network through the mobile app and enter the password you use for devices to connect to it. 6.1 The app will send the WiFi name and password over to the plug, which will then be authenticated and joined to your home network in the background. 7. On your mobile, rejoin your home network (the normal one you started on) and validate your plug is now on that same home network as well. 8. Using the Kasa app, try turning the outlet on and off. If it works you should hear a click as it turns on and off, indicating the internal relay device inside the outlet is switching on and off from your apps instructions. Power usage note: Even when the relay is switched off, this device uses 0.5w at idle. This means plugged in 24/7/365, one outlet will be responsible for a yearly usage of 4.38kW. That is, 0.5w * (365*24) / 1000.

This outlets are almost great. The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is because if the power goes out, when it comes back, they turn on. If you live in a place where the power is stable you don’t have to worry, but I live in PR so the power goes out a lot.

I first bought these years ago because my state has the highest energy rates in the nation and we are acutely aware that appliances turned off are still sucking energy. When my kids were younger I could shut off their computers, tvs, etc when they werent home to use them. My electric bill went down 30% almost immediately. Now I have them all over my house working with Google assistant. As I leave or enter a room, I just tell my google assistant (using routines) and the power connects or disconnects accordingly. I say goodnight and the whole house shuts down with the acceptation the few items I need, like the refrigerator, cell charger etc..
