Best ereader Ive ever seen or owned. Backlit screen is perfect in the dark and the eink screen is perfectly visible in light as well. Can load ePubs directly via Windows file explorer. Highly recommend this reader.

This is a great ereader for anyone wanting to avoid the Kindle ecosystem. Waterproof, e-ink display, battery lasts forever. Plenty of storage; I dont really get people who worry about 800+ books not being enough on their ereader. I manage my library with Calibre, and this syncs great (note: only on Windows, I couldnt get it to load up on my Mac). Overdrive is super convenient on WiFi - Ill typically pick out books on my phone for the better interface, then log in on the Kobo for a quick sync. My main complaint is how slow an unresponsive it can be, especially if youve got a 1,000+ page book loaded. It can take half a second or longer to register a page turn. I also dont like the long boot up with a huge Wal Mart logo, but thats a tiny quality-of-life thing that doesnt matter much.

I just unboxed my kobo aura and upon opening it, the left part of the page is frozen with a picture of the kobo with a plug. I tried to set it up via computer and still that page was frozen. After 2 minutes of setting it up, the lower half part of the page turned into black and was frozen. I tried turning it off and on and it is still the same. I am a fan of Kobo and I was excited to purchase Aura to replace my Kobo Glo. I am so disappointed with the product and this experience.

This e-reader is in my opinion the best on the market. The size is perfect, screen amazing and battery life is awesome. The backlight on this does not cause any eye-strain and is so easy to adjust. There is no glare (like on a tablet or phone) so reading in the daytime outside is not an issue. I an a non-conformist reader and love how Kobo doesnt regulate what is put on your device. If you can download it onto your laptop- you can load it on this reader.

This worked great for about a year - then, it stopped syncing with my overdrive account. No big deal, a pain, but ok - so I had to go through Adobe Digital Editions. Worked fine, then the device was no longer recognized as being authorized - so I couldnt read anything. Its ridiculous at Rakuten owns Overdrive & Libby, yet this device failed miserably. Customer service was abysmal as well. Stay away. Id suggest buying a Kindle or another companys e-reader as this one is terrible.

I love the Kobo Aura so much I bought this to replace an older unit that was having issues. The small defect with this Aura is the bottom lights shine up through a small gap and four cast shadows along the bottom of the screen. It nearly drove me crazy at first but now its just a minor inconvenience. Its a quality issue, this unit should not have been sold in the condition it is. I will keep it as I read everyday and cant be without it. I will however consider a different brand when replacing this unit. Thanks

This does everything Ive wanted in an e-reader. :)

Reading books on the Kobo Aura is difficult. The page rendering is is slow, and when scrolling down to read the lower half of the page, the device will zoom out randomly and move a few pages ahead or backward. Dont waste your money on this ereader!
