> 3 dayI found this very difficult as there was no users manual included. On line, yes PDF. Keyboard super sensitive, and no obvious way to delete unwanted characters. Getting the Reader connected brought me to the Kobu site and I could not find a way to get to my Bellingham Library site. I do not want to purchase, just download eBooks from our local library. A very frustrating afternoon of not any success.

> 3 dayI bought this two years ago, when Covid hit and all the libraries closed down but we could still borrow books electronically, I like having something lightweight to carry on the bus or when traveling. Its also useful to borrow books electronically when Im out of things to read. But recently it started to act erratically (the print on the screen would dissolve, or it would suddenly jump to a completely different part of the book with no apparent reason). Then, when I tried to recharge the battery, nothing happened. I plugged it into the charger for more than a day and it wouldnt charge! I found out that yes, the battery can be replaced but it needs more sophisticated electronics skills than I possess. Im glad that I was able to use it for the time I had it, but I think it should have lasted more than two years! Or at least they should make the battery replaceable., or provide a replacement service. I would not buy one of these again. I dont know if the competition is any better in this respect, however.

> 3 dayMy Kobo Aura has never worked according to its marketing and owner’s manual. The only way to upload books is from their over-priced store; library upload features do not work. Customer support will argue with you about how it’s ok the features don’t work. So now I’m stuck with a device that I have to keep putting more money into. Toxic landfill. My town doesn’t need that.

> 3 dayOverall good reader with some nice features and options. But: Some unknown errors during registration process. VERY SLOW fb2 loading Cant swipe pages, only touch. No Russian keyboardsearch. UI is slower than Kindle. Kobo app is not syncing books with reader, connection to PC required. Bottom line: many small annoying things that does not allow to enjoy the reading experience.

22-12-2024Pretty awesome little ebook reader. I have a Sony one that Ive used for over a decade now but sadly the case was falling apart and it had to be replaced, I could not find a replacement case. The size is great its really easy to hold in your hand. The built in backlight is amazing. Controlling the light can be a little annoying, it basically pops down a slider to adjust the brightness, but interacting the slider is a little unruly. Be careful to buy the correct case, I bought one for an older version and it blocked the power button on the back. The official case was $40 which I think is a little on the expensive side but it does fit perfectly and wakes/sleeps the device when opening and closing which is really nice.
