> 3 dayIts a decent monitor, it does what it says, and its defect free. Its not as nice as my old Shimian QH270, which I bought for a similar price in 2013. That also used an LG produced screen from that time. Unfortunately, that monitor died and I had to replace it at an inopportune time. Right now there are a plethora of options for 1440p+ monitors available, but thats only due to corner cutting in quality control and using lower quality panels to meet the induced demand. This LG panel, like many others available, does boast an impressive refresh rate and responsiveness that puts those old panels to shame. This makes it a good purchase if your focus is on gaming. However, the color has not noticeably improved over the past decade from other IPS monitors. Moreover, the contrast ratio is quite bad, certainly noticeable worse than my old screen, a bad feeling for a product with eight years advantage. Overall, I would recommend this product. The fact of the matter is, there arent a lot of options better than this at the price. LG is a quality manufacturer still, so you can trust youll get a screen in good working order, which is better than you can say for many other options. Comparing with its contemporaries, that makes it a worthy purchase. I just lament that I had to buy something during this trough, but hopefully screens will get better in the future, rather than just easier to find.

Greater than one weekColors are MORE vibrant and immersive than 1080p without a doubt, 144hz, few other modes built in. The only thing i will say is the brightness isnt as bright as i would like it to be to be honest (tbh). If you have a dark room or like to use your PC at night then the brightness is plenty. At night ill leave the brightness at like 45-65 cause it gets up there lol

> 3 daySo Ive been thinking about getting a monitor for a long time and after searching reviews, this monitor seemed to come up in the top 5 alot so I thought Id give it a shot. Wow its pretty amazing and the lag response is insane. I cant really give a great break of the features because Im still learning some but when I say response time is a night and day difference it is. If anyone remembers going from dial up to cable( yes Im that old), this is a great comparison. Ive always heard PC guys brang about skill but its not skill when Im getting a full second or two to look at them before they can shoot me back(fps) in warzone or even simple tdm matches. If youve been on the fence for awhile, get off and get this monitor you wont regret it. If anything goes bad with it I will update my post, but its a night and day difference from my tv( which is top of line gaming tv 3k plus in price) so not a mid tier tv. Amazing monitor

> 3 dayWhat I liked: + Great response times: I dont think anyone is going to miss their 144hz TN panel after using this. + Near perfect gamma 2.2 tracking on default gamma 2 mode + Average Delta-E around 1.5: not bad + Amazing color gradient handling when set to 10bit mode + No BLB or dead pixels What I disliked: - Default whitepoint is too cool (measured 7200K) and none of the provided modes gave an actual 6500K. Luckily, with a colorimeter in-hand (Colormunki Display) I was able to calibrate to 6500K with minimal loss of contrast by adjusting the RGB gains. - IPS glow isnt any better than my old IPS monitors. Youd think now that tablet and laptop IPS panels have mostly resolved this issue that monitor panels would do that too. Other notes - Contrast measured at 870:1, a bit low for an IPS panel although I cannot subjectively notice a difference in black levels compared to my other IPS monitor that measured 1150:1. If youre looking for deeper blacks youre better off with a 3000:1 VA. - Gamma mode 2 is the only gamma mode that was calibrated at the factory. Changing the gamma mode to modes 1,3, or 4 resulted in a white point of 6300K, contrast ratio increased to 1060:1, however the gamma tracking is really bad on these modes. - Gamma mode 1 results in an approx gamma of 2.0, mode 3 is approx gamma 2.5, mode 4 is approx gamma 2.3, but again the gamma curves on these modes are messed up and do not conform closely to these numbers so I ended up using gamma mode 2 and just correcting the white point.

> 3 dayI normally stick to Acer monitors but took a chance on these based on the positive reviews. My setup required 3 identical monitors and most of the CONS below are based on the suitability for my needs. The short power cord is very disappointing with a design that does not permit you to replace the power cord. PROS: - Slim bevel edge - Great responsiveness for gaming CONS: - Very short power cord (no simple replacement possible for the power brick) and it is never recommended to use an extension cord for monitors. - Alignment for multiple monitors is clumsy and will leave a gap. - Adjustable height starts at 4.5 inches above the desktop which is twice what my other monitors required. Recommended monitor settings found online will help make the most of the initial setup: MONITOR Game Mode Profile: • Gamer 1 Game Adjust: • Adaptive-Sync : On • Black Stabilizer : 40 (reduced from default of 50 as it helped make blacks more black instead of grey) • Response Time : Fast Picture Adjust: • Brightness : 30-40 (reduced from default of 100) • Contrast : 70 (default) • Sharpness : 50 (default) • Gamma : Mode 2 (default) • Color Temp : Custom (default) • R/G/B : 54/48/50 (these made the picture feel a little warmer than the default of 50/50/50 but I still tinker with them every now and again and these are more your personal taste on how warm/cold you like your whites and colours) • DFC : Off (default) General: • Smart Energy Saving : Off (change from On) • Power LED : On (this lights up the joystick under the front bezel) • Automatic Standby : 8h • Displayport 1.4 : Enable

> 3 dayThis is a good monitor for sure, it was very easy to get set up on its stand that comes with it. The picture is very clear and crisp, everything looks smooth when using it to game. The only negative thing about this monitor is that the picture kind of looks like it has a backwards curve to it, now this may just be because i was using a curved monitor for years before i got this monitor so my eyes may just need to adjust to using a flat screen monitor again. Other than that this is a great monitor, also the stand that comes with it is not overly large so it does not take up much room on your desk. The stand can also adjust for height or even tilt if you want to use your monitor in a portrait view instead of the standard landscape view. you can also tilt the monitor to have the screen angled a bit more down or up.

> 3 dayI am not an expert but l enjoy the picture quality for my purpose. I have it connected to my gaming laptop but have not played any games yet. But the games on youtube are nice and realistic. 1080,2k,4k,8k videos are nice and colorful. It fulfills my needs especially for the price l paid.....

> 3 dayI am coming from another LG monitor (UM67 29UM67) and the (27GL850-B 27) is a nice upgrade/downgrade compromise. I loved the ultrawide feature of my former monitor, but I really wanted to get a 144Hz refresh. Cost, size, resolution and 144Hz urged me to purchase the 27GL850-B 27. Other than loosing the ultrawide this monitor has better contrast, brightness, color and the 144Hz in Counter-Strike Source is very nice. Ultimatly I think this monitor should sell for $350.00 and not $499.00, but I really have no regrets. If you have an average monitor you will notice the quaility of the screen. If you have not experienced 144Hz in a fast paced shooter...you are missing something. I would not go for a 32 or 34 2K monitor over converns of the dpi resolution. This monitor is a very good compromise. Update - I dropped a star because Counter-Strike Source models get a weird ghosting effect. It is noticable and slightly distracting. So far I am not seeing the same issue in Battlefield 4. I will fiddle with settings and contact support and provide an update. Final Update - This monitor is far from perfect and I am not able to get rid of the weird ghosting effect. In addition I just noticied a stuck red pixel...sigh. At this price point a dead or stuck pixels should not be an issue. LG needs to step up the quality control.

Greater than one weekOrdered like 4 monitors from Amazon, and all had some manufacturing issues with them. Until this one. I have it for about 6 months now, no prob. The LG-850B is overall a solid monitor. Good colors, good refresh rate, okay profile management (cant create new profiles, but can edit the 2 gamer profiles). I bought this monitor for about 260$, so if you can, wait till xmas when for it to go on sale. I have a few complaints, some of which: 1. This is a U.S product, meaning it only comes with a U.S power supply unit. Go get an adapter. 2. The stand is ABYSMAL. I bought an arm to go with it. (F80 North Bayou, check locally, it might be cheaper than it is on Amazon). 3. The quality-control of all Amazon products is very questionable. You should get these types of products during the summer / xmas, where you have like 2 month window to return the item for a full refund, in case it completely breaks apart.
