Paired and worked in like 5 min, string light in the back yard are not alxea controlled

It has great wireless range from the Lutron Caseta hub. Turned my outdoor Christmas lights on and off every time.

Like most Caseta stuff, this is priced at the higher end of its market, but it is a nicely put together package, that seems like itd take a decent soaking. The line lump style is great since it separates the outlets from the device, offering more layout flexibility when attached to walls, and an option for water sealing the couplings, which is not the case with the standard sockets-at-the-bottom devices. I cant speak to its range, I happen to have a caseta lamp dimmer on the opposite side of the wall, so mine is only a few feet away from the mesh.

This is a great solution for just on/off functionality. However, there is no built in functionality for using the Caseta Pico remote with dimmer functionality. Was easy to program and appeared to be well built. However I needed dimming capability with our string lights on our terrace. Thought this would be the ticket along with a Pico remote, but not to be so returned it.

Lutron makes the most reliable and highest quality devices. Yes this outdoor plug is expensive but it is built to last and will be the last one you ever have to buy. My last smart plug was a cheap alternative and failed after a month in southern heat. The Lutron handles the heat perfectly and is built like a tank

Thanks to the Lutron hub I have already, the plug was able to latch onto my weak wifi signal outside where other smart plugs have failed. Easy set up, seamless Homekit integration. Love my Lutron tech.

I bought 2 for my outdoor string lights, best decision ever. I chose to control it thru the Lutron app rather than Alexa. I now have 9 Lutron Caseta plugs and Im extremely happy with their performance. These outdoor plugs have replaced my old timers, theyre resistant to our extreme heats and rainfall. Highly recommend it.

So happy Lutron introduced this to the Caseta compatible line. My use is to control a home water pressure pump that I dont always want running but cannot easily access. Compared to my previous solution which was a remote-switched plug/dongle cord, this product allows me to control or schedule the pump at certain times and/or remotely. For example, when running the drip irrigation system for 2.5 hours I dont want or need the loud water pressure pump running. Now I can automatically schedule the Smart Plug to turn off at 2am before the irrigation system comes on and run it in silence. I have no issues with range, although I do use two extenders - one plug-in dimmer and one additional repeater, as part of my whole-home shades and lights system. The Caseta system is probably the best ever infrastructure addition to my life and their customer service is tremendous. The only bummer is adding 3 Picos, on top of the device itself, to manually control the Smart Plug from various bathrooms (for shower pressure) takes up valuable slots in the Caseta system which has a maximum of 75 devices. You dont need Picos if you want to control it from the app, but I find it easier, and people without the app can turn the Smart Plug on and off in real time, should your needs dictate. It would be great if Lutron could offer dedicated RF remotes along with the plug (outside of the Caseta network) that would be in addition to any additional Picos one chooses to add to the Caseta network through the app. Strictly speaking, this RF remote technology would likely be a step back for the sophisticated company but it would be convenient if the plug came with a few remotes that just worked out of the box.
