The hub gave me more needed ports without an appreciable decline in speed from my gigabit internet speed. I am happy.

Everything looks good. Bought this for my office so we can add more cables.

This seems like it will be a decent little switch, but it does come with one significant annoyance: You can only use VLANs 1-8. Obviously, probably dont need more than 8 VLANs assigned in an 8 port switch, but limiting the VLAN ids that can be used to IDs 1-8 seems like an artificial limitation that is just to remind you that you bought the low end managed switch. This isnt a deal breaker for me, but next time I will buy something else.

Great little switch! Still working great months later, with hundreds of gigs of data passing through this thing weekly. No complaints at all! All speeds are as expected with zero issues!

Ive had multiple Netgear switches. Theyre usually quite durable; I have two of the plastic Gigabit switches which are still running strong for over five years, no problem. I previously had a metal router with a comm port that was fantastically customizable and was used daily for four years until I sold it. I thought this metal version would be equally durable; it failed within 2 months. Dead as a doornail. I would otherwise rate the switch as a one star experience but for Netgears customer service. Opened up a ticket, chatted a few minutes with a rep, dropped the old one in the mail and in 7 days had a BRAND NEW (not refurbished) switch. So I rated the purchase as a 3 star. If the new switch lasts, thus proving the former device as a one-time dud, Ill upgrade and update my rating.

Initially, this switch out of the box did not provide !G speed. I found out that the problem was one of my cables was faulty. This switch does a good job.
