> 3 dayI decided to upgrade the thermal compound on my new i3-8100 Shuttle XPC Slim, which is air-cooled by copper heat pipes connected to a heat sink and two small fans. Before I move on to my five-years-old i7-4790K workstation I wanted to see just how effective it is over the generic compound shipped with the XPC. On the generic compound, the average CPU idle temp was 40C. With the Noctua NT-H2 compound the CPU idles between 37C and 38C. This is roughly a 6% improvement in cooling effectiveness.

> 3 dayBought this to try as my MSI GTX1080 Gaming X was running at 80 degrees+ whilst gaming with the fans on 100% after a mild overclock. I disassembled the card, the original thermal paste still looked pretty good and hadnt dried up at all. I went ahead and changed it for the H2 and put it back in my machine. I left the fans at 100% to keep the test fair and during gaming it only gets to 54 degrees. I was able to push the overclock from +55 to +160 on the core and even after applying as much voltage as possible the temps stay below 60 using a slightly modified standard fan curve. A pretty great performance upgrade for the price!

Greater than one weekLike the title says, I got NT-H2 because its the same price as NT-H1. Came with some wipes, which was nice. Seems that my CPU hasnt exploded, temps are in acceptable ranges with a be quiet! Pure Rock Slim in a Cougar QBX case. Spread easily, too. Plenty for a bunch of computer builds, honestly... so I guess Ill have to build some more computers.

Easy to apply
