> 3 dayI bought this product last December, and I have been using it in a daily basis. Its been 6 months and the project broke down. Two red lights blinking, and the project doesnt work anymore. I bought from amazon US and it shipped to me to Saudi Arabia. I tried to contact optpma but they werent helpful at all. I need help. Im tired of trying but nobody answers back.

Greater than one weekBought this 2-3 years back. Still performing very well. I don’t use it every single day and admittedly am not near the maximum bulb life, but I’m still impressed by the phenomenal picture on my 135” projector screen. I do wish it was a little more silent, but once the movie or game is on, everything is perfect. I hook up my portable speaker to it via the 3mm cable speaker output port and sounds great. Love this projector!

> 3 dayThis is my third Optoma. I upgraded from a gt720. I just hooked it up and finished watching a movie. I seriously cannot imagine a better picture quality. I’m not sure what the $3k or more units can offer. All I can say is I love this unit, and I haven’t even calibrated it or tuned it or anything. I highly recommend

> 3 dayIve had this projector for a month and its been overall amazing. For those on the fence about buying this, go ahead and get it!! Coming from a 65 inch 4k tv, this is a huge upgrade in my opinion. Im running 135 inch screen and that movie theater feel is amazing! The HDR DOES make the picture look better, even though hdr isnt the greatest on projectors. Colors look more saturated and pop more.

> 3 dayHusband and I bought this to replace a similar Optoma DLP projector that we had for ~6 years. For the same price point now, this one is way brighter. We used to have to wait until dark to see anything properly on a projector, but this one is still super clear in the middle of the day (barring direct sunlight of course). That aspect alone is worth the upgrade for us, because we can get way more use out of it. The picture is very good; colors are bright and accurate. I also love the focus knob; since its so big, it offers very fine control and its easy to get it focused perfectly. The only cons I have are small: (1) It takes a really long time to turn on and switch inputs compared to other projectors Ive had. Not a big deal, just a little annoying. (2) No dust filter! I dont know why Optoma doesnt think dust filters are necessary. Apparently they only include them in dusty climates, whatever that means. Without one, dust will collect in the projector and make it more likely to overheat and have parts break down (thats what happened to our last one multiple times). If you are tech savvy enough, you can open the projector up every so often and vacuum the dust out to make sure the projector lasts a long time. Also just make sure you place it in a well-ventilated spot / not right up against a wall and definitely not in an enclosed space like a cubby shelf. Dont just rely on the projector telling you when its too hot, something could be damaged or starting to melt a little before the built-in sensors go off. For future reference, if something does go wrong, dont be afraid to fix it yourself. The most common issue Ive had with DLP projectors is a bad color wheel. If your colors start flashing weirdly and you hear whirring/clicking from the projector, its probably the color wheel. You can get a new one online for <$30 and replace it yourself. Just look up a video.

Greater than one weekI just received the Optoma HD28HDR today and did a few things to test it out before final mount and setup. I tried the QR code for more detailed setup only to find Optoma says a HD28HDR doesn’t exist? It also states in the description that it has optical out, so I purchased a long optical cord to go along with it.... no optical out hookup! Only a 3.5mm audio out jack. The brief look into picture quality didn’t seem bad, but I’m pretty disappointed in the lack of information for the product from the company, and the misinformation on the description. I’m hoping I didn’t waste my time and money

Greater than one weekAt 600 bucks you can’t go wrong with this sure you can pay 2000 and 3000 but I don’t think it’s worth it. I bought $120 projector and it was really good. I was surprised I got this one and it has a few more shells and whistles, but as far as the picture quality, it probably went from 82% to 95%. I bet if I got a projector that was $3000 it probably be another 5% better but after a few days, I’m not sure I would really notice that much. So far this is held up if it breaks down and starts getting crappy. I’ll do a new review I’m really happy this really has helped increase our entertainment pleasure.
