Installed this in my rv water heater without any problems. I replace these rods once a year plus flush my tank with a 50% mix of water and vinegar. Maintenance is the best way to avoid problems.

These should be replaced every 1-2 years. I removed mine and it was almost gone. And the water that came out of the RV water heater smelled disgusting and had a gel like substance in it. Be sure to drain the water heater if not using for a long period of time. It will take a little bit for the water pump to fill it back up on the first use so don’t be alarmed.
