Apply teflon on the threads and screw it into the water heater.

I have used this rod previously and it did its job. Water at our location is very hard and no anode rod will last very long. Ordered the 2 pak so Ill have a spare. They even include the teflon tape that you will need Great product at a great price

I needed to replace the Anode but refused to pay $20.00 @ the local RV dealer for ONE and went to Amazon. The two pack with thread sealer tape is awesome and I highly recommend this product. I suggest you clean the opening of the water heater with a fine wire brush first before placing the NEW one. Perfect fit and so easy to install, took me less than one minute to do this. I fired up the heater to check for any leaks, none ! and Im pleased to have a back up Anode for next year and saved money !
