This is the gold standard if youre looking to go 1 X 9/10/11 or single speed. Narrow wide eliminates a chain guide. Race Face makes quality components.

Race face makes good rings, but single rings systems dont last as long as the old 2x and 3x, one ring is doing all the work, all the time. After about a year the wide part wears out and you drop you chain nearly every ride, time to buy another $50 ring. Nice little system to sell mountain bikers a new ring every year. On the good side, its trendy, and allows you to get rid of the front derailleur/shifter. Steel teeth would be better.

This gear is made of a high quality aluminum and precisely machined. The narrow wide tooth pattern seems to work for holding the chain on my drivetrain, my chain has not dropped since I have changed to this gear. I do mostly downhill single track and have put this chain ring through its paces. It fit perfectly, performed perfectly. Raceface always delivers. Save money by running a 1x10 set up. I combine mine with wolf components cassette adapter for 1x11. Seems to be built tough and light.
