> 3 dayWish there was a spot for ZERO stars in this product review screen. Before anyone asks, no, I did not contact tech support ... this software was so bad, I knew better. Please take some friendly advice of myself and many others ... DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, unless you enjoy hours and hours of frustration, Windows PC restarts, and horrible application software which is SO full of bugs and very unstable ... basically USELESS. I assumed this POS would at least simply import video from my old mini-DV and Hi8 tapes from when the kids were young. Nope! Installation was rough, and took a few tries. After it finally completed the installation, as usual, I go and set some figurations and tailor this to my setup here. Most decent software allows such changes and then saves them as future defaults ... you know, like LOCATION TO SAVE YOUR CAPTURE FILES. Nope again, any settings are lost when you exit or restart (which had to be done several times each day), no matter what you changed, none of the settings stick and it goes back to saving your capture files ... who knows where sometimes, very inconsistent indeed. Save your money, and just purchase the cheapest USB to RCA video/audio capture device on Amazon, and download OSB for your software. It is TREMENDOUS and very easy to use.

> 3 dayI would give this 5 stars if the audio would not or could eliminate a clicking noise that I think is coming from the VCR or my audio card as I tried 4 VCRs and the clicking noise was still present - not sure what it is but after many start overs and the cheapest VCR I have the clicking noise was very faint.

Greater than one weekA friend had very positive results with the Macintosh version and recommended it. I bought this product. Please pass it by. What you get in the package is the hardware USB interface and 2 blank disks. You are directed to a website at Roxio to download the software. So, after 2 days of attempting to install the software, all Ive accomplished is a waste of time. No software should every take this much effort to install. After downloading 750MB the installer progresses a little bit and says an error has occurred and quits. Forget tech support. Ive gotten the standard responses like: 1) shut down the firewall and anti-virus protection and 2) create a new user account with admin privileges (and go through the entire process again. The most frustrating part of the support experience is that the support rep insisted I provide him with a license key. News Flash: This package has no license key info. I needed to take photos of the box and email them to the support desk to prove I was an actual purchaser. (Incidentally, the software does not begin the install process without the USB hardware attached to the computer). Long and the short of it: Ive gotten a return authorization and its going back to Amazon. And, finally, Corel tech support gave that as their final recommendation: return what I bought and purchase another package (probably directly from them) with a software CD enclosed. No one should spend this much time just getting the software installed. PS: Running Windows 10 (64-bit) on new Dell with Intel Dual Core CPU (3Ghz) with 8 GB Ram and 1 TB HD.

> 3 dayI had previously bought a different VHS to DVD converter that never worked. So, after requesting a refund, I bought the Roxio. It was the easiest process to install software and setup the system. I love it. I have used it to convert 2 full length home movies that were on VHS and the tapes were very old. My VCR barely played them but the Roxio did an excellent job of converting them. I recommend this to anyone who has tapes they need saved into digital format. As long as you have a means to play them and jacks to connect to Roxio, you can save them to hard drive, thumb drive, or burn a DVD. Perfect!!!! I rated tech support neutral because they werent needed.

Greater than one weekAfter you figure out the quirks, this product works extremely well. For my first few tries, the audio was distorted. To fix this, I had to do two things. 1) in windows sound properties, I made the volume VERY low (3%). 2) in the vhs software, I made the volume slider also very low (pretty much all the way to the left plus a tiny amount). After that, audio was perfect and surprisingly not as quiet as those settings would have you believe.

> 3 dayYou need an audio/video cable not included. The one with the red, yellow and white plugs on both ends. After a couple of tries and converting a trial video, it was easy to use. Comes with DVDs but computers nowadays don’t have a way to play them. Videos are saved to the video folder on computer. My home VHS videos are now on line. There were no instructions on how to crop parts of the video. So I recorded the complete video. You press record, walk away and check every so often. It does have a feature to stop at the end of the recording. I would recommend this product.

Greater than one weekBought to convert old VHS tapes. Tried to download the software. I have newer laptop with windows 10. Could not get past first screen because I got message to plug in Roxio hardware even though it was plugged in. I unplugged and tried different usb. Same message. I started a chat with Roxio which after awhile led to them creating a ticket and note tech would call. I called product support and that ended the same with new ticket. Both tickets were acknowledged and I was requested to send a description of the issue. No response on either for over 24 hrs and then received another email asking me to describe the issue. Very disappointed and I am now beyond my return window.
