> 3 dayBought this to upgrade the HD on my older Asus ROG g751jy laptop, as it still had a conventional hard disk. It booted up and disk manager recognized it and formatted it. All was good until I tried to put windows on it and managed to brick the whole laptop by messing with secure boot setting keys. Got the black screen of death and no boot. Wish Microsoft would make it easier to copy windows onto new drives. Long story short, I got mad and bought a new laptop, but I saved this drive and now it’s working flawlessly in the new rig. Quite speedy, can’t say I notice a huge difference between this and regular sata ssd, but the big pro is the size!

> 3 dayJust wanted to see if I could speed up an old pc. I put this on a cheap PCIe adapter and plugged it into a PCIe 2.0 slot On old Asrock 970 extreme board and bingo. Transferred all files from ssd 850 evo that was onboard and now I can boot off this bad boy. Granted I dont get the full potential of this SSD but it is 5x faster read and write than the 850 and the random read writes 1.25 and almost 5 times faster. Video editing and publishing is where it helps me out speed wise. The other thing I like is a lot of people said I would never be able to boot off the drive once installed.

> 3 dayIt is important to note that if you install and M.2 or any SSD and you have the intent of putting your OS on the drive for fast booting or whatever, that you do not do a force shutdown (hold the power button for 10+ seconds) during a writing process because this can corrupt your ssd and make you feel bad.

> 3 dayAs a first time builder, I had several people recommend other brands, but I got this on BF for $80 (500 GB), so I figured Id go with the known brand with so little price difference. Im happy I did. In benchmarks, I score 150% for gaming wih incredibly fast speeds. Samsung has great software for managing your storage. Ive only had it for a month, but Im not worried at all about its durability. I have it installed in the M.2 slot on my ROG X470 (one without the heatsink), and the temps stay around 50 degrees. So far, so good!

> 3 dayThis is the best upgrade you can make to your laptop. My startup time was about 3-4minutes before I installed this SSD. I am now getting less than a minute startup time. Simply amazing!
