> 3 dayNothing I can say here would add to the 20K plus comments and dozens of photos, but I feel I can add value half way into 2020 with results of my own. I put a 500GB version into my four year old HP 640 G1 laptop (4th gen i5, 8GB RAM). Samsungs RAPID utility really makes this SSD fly that I never saw from my older Crucial 250GB SSD that was in there.

> 3 dayMy laptop is a bit over 2 years old. At the time I purchased it, I knew that I should get an SSD, but the cost was prohibitive at the time (about a 30% increase). The laptop has seemed to be running sluggish, and I wasnt able to determine why. I decided to upgrade the RAM from 8GB to 24GB, and that helped but wasnt a huge difference. Then I upgraded the HD to an SSD. I wasnt sure if the cloning / install process would go well, but it went off without any problems. (You will need a USB to SATA adapter for the cloning process - I used this one that I already had https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GLL41MA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

> 3 dayIm an independent IT guy who supports small businesses. One thing a lot of people (especially other IT people) dont understand about my job is that small businesses and charities are often on shoestring budgets. I often have to keep ancient machines working far longer than they should, because my clients just dont have the money for the latest & greatest.

> 3 dayMy old hard drive was starting to fail, this SSD solved the problem in a huge way. I love it. I am starting to get used to how fast it really is. My computer guru had no problems transferring data or installing it.

> 3 dayI had purchased two of these drives to use in a RAID 1 configuration in my Dell T5600 with a PERC 710 RAID controller. After initializing the drives, I found they would not make a RAID 1 boot drive. Since the 2 TB Samsung drive is a slightly different size than my existing 2 TB WD hard drives, I could not use the rebuild function. So, I tried to make a drive that had a bootable copy of my existing drives in their RAID 1 configuration. Then I figured I would put that drive in the PC, and put the other Samsung drive in and then let the first drive rebuild the second drive. But, since it is not possible to create the first bootable copy, that was not possible. I called Samsung and their response was that they do not support RAID.
