As far as laptop performance upgrades go per dollar, this was a pretty good deal.

got the Black Screen on the HD so bought a new one and upgraded the RAM from 8GB - What a difference, boot time is almost zero!

MacBook Pro M2012. It was easy to pop off the back cover, disconnect the battery, pull out the old ram and replace it with the new. I upgraded from 8gb (1060 - from my old 2009MBP) to this 16gb (1600 - what my MBP12 actually needed) and I no longer feel the need to upgrade to a new one anymore. I liked the 2012 because it allows you to swap ram and hard drives but I was almost ready to give up on her. Swapped the main drive for ssd years ago, dual drive in the cd/dvd spot, didn’t even realize how much the ram I was using sucked!! Laptop works great now and I’m returning the old ram to the MBP09 that I forgot I still had!
