> 24 hourThese Sony XM5 headphones are a great buy & worth the money. They have good noise cancellation and ambient modes and are comfortable for medium periods of listening. However, Apples AirPods Max has superior Noise cancellation, ambient modes and music reproduction in my experience. Apple AirPods Max are heavy and after 45 minutes become uncomfortable on my large head. I have tested both playing Apple Lossless Music through a DAC and Apple still shines but is over $100 more at $479. The Sony has a better battery life, is lighter and is more comfortable for medium periods of use. I have a big head and even the Sony headphones get uncomfortable after a straight hour of use and cause my ears to get hot. I recently got Technics EAH-A800 headphones for a little less than (@$347) the Sony XM5. The EAH-A800 are better at noise cancellation & ambient modes and have great sound reproduction & best of all I can wear them for hours with no discomfort. If I were buying headphones in the $350 to $400 range I would buy the Technics EAH-800 for better value. Yes Sony does a lot of advertising but the Technics are made by Panasonic and they have a great history in reproducing quality sound.

> 24 hourIt has some connection issues with my Samsung TV (and Im not sure whose fault that is), and it also randomly disconnects from whatever its connected to from time to time, but as noise-cancelling headphones go, its practically perfect. I live 12 miles from an air base and for some reason, the jets have to fly over MY HOUSE, EVERY SINGLE DAY OF MY LIFE. I hate it here, but these have restored a portion of my sanity. If you have any hatred for any noise that you cant control, get these! Expensive, but worth the price!

> 24 hourWell, it lived up to the hype. The sound quality was superb for my listening requirements. The noise cancelling is the best Ive experienced in any Earphones Ive ever had. Its perfect for flights and removing ambient noise to enhance your listening experience. Im rarely surprised by tech doing what it says it will do without some caveat. Id highly recommend these.

> 24 hourBought these for my partner, who adores them for their light weight, comfortable fit, good touch controls, good quality voice pickup for video calls, and excellent noise-cancelling ability. I like them because we can talk - they just palm the right earcup to activate pass-through mode. Or, if we need a longer chat, they can pull off the headphones which automatically pauses the music. This has drastically reduced the number of annoyed looks I get. Win-win! Out of the box, the sound quality on these cans is decent but the headphones are more bass-heavy. The low end sounds a little “muddy”. There is an EQ adjustment in the accompanying Sony app, but after downloading it, quickly uninstalled it because the software demanded a lot of personal information. Wed rather rather live with the just-tolerable sound profile than give up all that information to Sony. One star off, Sony, for being just a bit too greedy and not respecting privacy; the app should come with no strings attached, especially given the cost of these headphones.

> 24 hourFinally I can get the base boost required for modern metal on iOS (as all iOS users know, iOS is in dire need of a full featured, globally functional Equalizer app). Extreme Bluetooth range and interference reduction. These headphones are great, aside from two big problems that could be fixed with a software update: 1) Sony needs reduce the Bass Boost low-pass filter internal setting down to 80Hz or let us adjust it manually as it’s current hardcoded setting is so high that it really trashes the sound quality of the music. ‘Also needs more equalizer bars and advanced feature to compensate for iOS’s lack thereof. 2) Option for Manual Noise Canceling setting; the automatic works great in most situations, but around work machines we need an Extreme setting.

> 24 hourI’ve owned the M3 version since 2019. I’ve absolutely loved them, especially for travel. I have used them for 3 years+ and easily justified buying The updated version this year. WOW. I’ve had them not even 20 minutes and the sound quality/noise cancellation has improved drastically. AND the case collapsing will come in handy when I throw them into my carry on backpack! I love music/speakers/headphones and I promise you these are worth the cost!!
