The punishment I have already given this poor journal was merely laughed at, I swear I heard it ask Is that all ya got?! Strathmore is recommended by nearly every teacher in this medium on CreativeBug, and SkillShare. I had a little trouble when I first used it because it was so brand new it didnt want to stay open on its own. I think the A5 size just needed a little more breaking in than a larger size would have. Great quality, great price, I would just like to request more color options :) * Updated to include pic of the cover for another user.

pages are lovely quality, thick enough to paint on (both sides), and i think a good size, too. just hard to keep open as the spine is a little fussy, you always have to have a hand on the other side keeping it open while youre working. i would switch to a ring bound one for the next sketch book.

Lovely heavy watercolour paper, perfect for washes, doesnt buckle etc. Good size to carry about. Could do with an elastic band like the Moleskin pads (You can make your own)

Me encantó, la calidad del papel es muy buena, no se transpasa a la otra hoja, puedes hacer tus aguadas sin que se pase al otro lado. Lo volvería a comprar sin duda

Pages are textured and thick. I will definitely buy another one when I fill up my current one. Pages will warp slightly when I use watercolor, but not a big deal.

I use this watercolour journal for my illustrations and I couldnt be more pleased by the quality. Strathmore are a great brand for paper and their watercolour paper is just perfect. Their thick GSM is perfect for washes of colour and the paper has very little buckling which is something vital when creating illustrations. When applying watercolour to the paper it more or less sits on top of the paper and dries rather than the paper soaking it in, meaning that if you make a mistake and the watercolour is fairly wet you can simply pick the colour up with a paper towel. The feel and texture to the book is great and gives a great touch to finished pieces as the texture can often be seen through washes. Binding of the journal seems quite strong so far as Ive used it. The journal is a little pricey though so I would recommend using this if you work with watercolour a lot and your budget allows it. Edit: its been almost a year since I bought this now and this journal is still up to par, as for binding it is still strong.
