Strathmore 566-8 500 Series Hardbound Mixed Media Art Journal, 8.5x11 32 Sheets

Good quality and size BUT too few pages for my needs. Wish there was a version with more pages

Works good with my promarkers and copic markers.

I don’t particularly like this sketchbook for watercolor. The pages are not very absorbent and the paper feels kind of plastic-y. I think it’s maybe better as a gouache sketchbook. I also don’t like that both sides of a page are not the same texture. One side is much smoother while the other has more of a cold-pressed texture. I’ve worked around this by painting gouache or drawing on the smooth side but if you really wanted the entire sketchbook for watercolor, you’d be disappointed.

It is not black as it appears but a dark brown which gives it a quality that black does not.

I bought this as a birthday gift for my more artistically inclined friend. She loves the texture and says theres minimal if any sharpie bleeding (shes a sharpie artist who also dabbles in watercolors) and says its her fanciest sketchbook to date. Overall a great gift for artists!

It was unexpectedly dark. Close to paper bag color. It is tough to see pencil writing.

Unfortunately a lot of pages have an odd film on them which makes it hard to paint wet on wet. It doesnt actually absorb the water, it slides around.

Favorite sketchbook of all time. Kinda sucks with markers though

I like it alot. It can hold alot of water and it wont buckle (although I do tape the edges).

This really is a beautiful book. It makes me pay attention when I draw in this one.
