A lot more than what I expected! It`s an elegant, multifunctional backpack with a lot of space and different pockets. It even has an area for glasses and one for tablets. I am impressed!

As a college student who was looking to upgrade from a jansport backpack, this is honestly a great backpack to get. It is pricy, but it was needed for lugging around some textbooks, and other essential school supplies. It’s practical since it’s comfortable, carries a lot of stuff, and it also looks very good. One of the things I was worried about was on how big the whole thing would look on me. I am not a fan of thick, bulky backpacks, and although this is not the thinnest backpack either, it certainly is not an eyesore sticking out. Very good plus. For those of you who are skinny and short as I am, this will work well for you, and should look neat and professional. Package arrived well and included the lock. Very easy to set up as well for other uses! Another awesome feature was the cold water bottle compartment that keeps your drinks at temperature, and of course the USB charging port on the strap is an added bonus that is convenient for the student or traveler on the go. I hooked mine up to an Anker portable charger and it works just great! The only downside for me was the sunglasses compartment. This pocket is for sunglasses but it’s a hard shell area pocket that sticks down to one of the compartments that I use to store my notebooks and textbooks. It only makes taking things out and putting things in a little awkward since there’s that bulge of a pocket in my way. Other than that though, totally worth a buy if you want a good backpack that is durable. I’ve only had it for a bit but it seems sturdy and only the test of time will show how well it really is.

I just got this backpack and love it. I found it had enough compartments and pockets for me to be able to separate and store all that I needed to. While I havent had it long it does seem sturdy and well made. I love the handle as when I travel I usually carry it through airports instead of wearing it on my back and the handle is very easy on my hands. But it is very comfortable to wear on my back also. I feel it does a good job of protecting my14 lap top and its also small enough to easily fit under the seat on the plane. I saw reviews where people said the zippers came undone and their laptop fell out. But I would never close my zippers at the top of the backpack. I always pull both zippers all the way over to the left side and I am sure they could not come undone that way. Even though its kind of hard I am not sure the sunglass compartment is sturdy enough to protect my prescription sunglasses. But its a convenient spot to keep snack bars in for the plane so I use it for that. All in all a good purchase and very happy.....

Usable, but should have had more internal pockets instead of the totally useless-to-me Shoe pocket that takes up so much room inside the bag if you actually put shoes inside the pocket. Not as many usable internal pockets as would appear from photos. The shoe pocket is also of thin material that will probably not last long if you actually put shoes inside it. With perfect 20/29 hindsight realize I should have bought the other model. Durability; Looks durable, but only actual usage and time will tell that. Annoying zipper strap arrangements, not really well thought out by the designer.. You have to unfasten them to use the bag zipper there. (See photos) Has two totally annoying useless straps with round plastic circles at the end of them hanging down the bottom of the bag. These are for adjusting the bag to fit your back, but some way of fastening the extra length of them up and out of the way should have been considered. Will probably just cut the extra length off, since there is apparently nothing on the bag that those plastic circles at the ends actually fasten to. (See photos) No instructions included with the bag; but lots of lovely tags to explain, fastened here and there on the bag for instructions. The lock is a joke a kid could easily force open, if you want a lock on the bag get a real one. Keeping it, but will modify it to fit my needs. Overpriced for what you get, and annoying. Will probably just remove the worthless fragile shoe pocket by cutting it out inside the bag, never use that zipper, and use industrial silicon glue to place some durable pockets inside the bag in that compartment. Silicon gluing durable pouches inside to make more pockets works for me. Have modified bags before.

But I did on this backpack. I have 2 of these and love them. One I use daily and one I use for Piloting. Perfect for a Cessna 172 and holds absolutely everything I need to travel. The compartments are perfect size, its not over bearing on your back. Very comfortable to wear over longer distances and the colors are well chosen. All around great backpack!

Sadly, I had to say goodbye to my long time friend, my old Swiss Gear laptop backpack. After countless trips, 6 countries, and 15+ years, it was time to let him go. The logical replacement was the newer version. Pros: * the passport pocket in the front - super duper convenient * the fully zip down opening to pull your laptop out at TSA (sort of - more later) * insulated side bag - great, but I often forget the water I placed in there for the taxi ride - sorry Mr/Ms TSA agent * the separate compartment for shoes - maybe. I guess that’s a good feature, but I have huge feet, so it doesn’t work great for my Flintsone feet coverings + it is internal to the backpack, so it removes storage space * side clips - these actually are a great addition over the old model * back strap for use on roller bags. - holy crap, what a game changer - double kudos Cons: * zippers - these suck. They constantly come off track, especially in the fully unzippable laptop portion. If you don’t fully secure them, upon any weight, they come unzipped, tossing your laptop, tablet, extra monitors, etc straight to the floor. This bag utilizes many different sizes and styles of zippers, with the only double thick zipper being in the main bag portion. Arguably, this zipper style should have been included on at least the laptop portion as well (see above) Other than the double zippers, the rest are cheap and poorly made. I’ve already had to retread them multiple times. Also, the teeth are already bent, and missing in spots * no front pocket for catch all (keys, wallet, earbuds, etc.) the only feasible pocket is the one designed for your sunglasses, which means, no sunglasses pocket *heavy - oh lord. It’s like carrying an angry toddler on your back * laptop pocket - like I said before, nice idea, convenient when going through TSA if you don’t have pre-check or are in a global location, but the zipper sucks, picture your laptop and other devices dumping on the floor as you rush to your gate (see above). But the other issue is that, once you remove your laptop and devices for TSA, all of the items in the inner bag shift, making it an impossible game of Tetris to put your laptop and devices back in. It puts additional strain on the weak zipper * weak stitching along the straps. After only a dozen or so flights, the seams have already broken and started to unravel In a nutshell, this is not the Swiss Gear I remember. Would not buy again.

Please look at the corresponding pictures in this review. This is not even the same backpack. There is no place to put a spare charging battery, even though it was specifically advertised, the accessory pockets are completely different, and the charging port is on the side of the bag and not on the strap even though the phone pocket is still there. I am assuming that they are just selling the defective ones on Amazon. Regardless, as this is Swiss Gears official store, I will not be buying from them again and would recommend you do the same.
