Powering everything in a full 12U two-post rack with no overheating or other issues. Nice to have the little protective cover for the power switch to keep little ones from playing with it.

I needed a power strip for my new 15U server rack and preferred a rack mountable one. At first I bought a competitors strip but ended up returning it since it ended up not being UL approved. I feel more comfortable with electrical devices that are UL approved being in my house. It has worked well so far. Plugged it into my UPS and mounted it to the back of my rack to keep the power cords out of sight. It provides plenty of outlets for my various devices. It can be a bit hard to get the plugs pushed into the outlets, though. I guess Id rather have that than them being loose, but that can be an issue if youve got tight space to deal with. The orientation of the outlets is perfect for wall warts, as they dont end up blocking any neighboring outlets when plugged into the strip. I have quite a few devices with wall warts, so that feature is a necessity. The 15ft long cord was way overkill for my needs, but I can see that being handy for some people. Construction is pretty heavy duty.

Sometimes the plugs do not have a good fit and dont create a good contact.

I am happy with my purchase: the bar does what it has to do: a lot of outlets. Il will sometimes give a 60Hz humm, but it isnt too loud (my working computer is louder).

It is very solid. It was just what I needed.

I didnt realize until i tried to use it that i cant plug this into a standard wall outlet. That odd plug is what gives this unit a 20 amp rating. Otherwise, a standard plug reduces rating to 15 amps. I couldnt return it, so i bought adapters for the plug so i could use it. Now, it has a 15 amp capacity.

The outlets are of high quality, and inside nearly all connections are soldered using quality wire. Only complaint is the sellers ship this in its factory packaging which is insufficient - so the chances of receiving it with a bent rack ear or whatnot is very high. Just note Tripp Lite does not offer replacement rack ears.
