Greater than one weekWe had about 6 kids over for a party plus parents. I ordered one bc of reviews that said one is enough. When I got it the bottles were so small so I got another. We used one full out plus 4 bottles from the 2nd with the popular colors. This is my first time doing this. But I attached a photo to show two different results after rinse and wash. On the first photo on the top is a vibrant one, on the bottom is a ok one but a little faded, it looked so good before washing it. Most of mine faded after wash and I followed instructions. I let both stew in the bag for 17 hours. So here are my tips, if you want vibrant and contrast in the result, you must tie the bands tight AND be very generous with the dye. It is easy to use half a bottle on one tee shirt. So each bin comes with two bottles of each color (or at least the popular colors). So if you get one and you are worried it wont last for all the projects you want to do, you will not saturate the shirt enough because you want everyone to have enough dye. So I would advise get another box just in case. And then make sure you are using the tightness of the band to prevent the dye from dying the fabric and then generously apply the dye so that it really gets into the fabric. If you dont put enough and the bands arent tight enough then it will fade during the rinse and wash. But I havent tested my theory. In the future if I really want vibrant I would probably do it without the party so I can focus on mine being really good and vibrant. I even dyed a few for myself before the party but I was concerned about using up too much dye so they first looked amazing but when I rinsed and washed and dried they faded a lot and the white spots got a smidge bluish. The other two photos you can see the range of results I got.

> 3 dayA couple of the bottles wouldn’t screw lids on tight and came spilled in the case so that was a waste. The lids don’t hold the liquid tight and they do leak a bit and don’t last very long so you’ll need several colors to do a shirt. Colors turned out well when left to sit for a few days.

07-04-2025Bought 2 big tie dye kits and planned to print out the free printable for decorating and the after care instructions for tie dye to stick on each bag for the kids to take them home and wash. I tried on my phone at first, then I got my computer and tried downloading them. I never could get them downloaded so I just had to make do with what I had or could find/buy somewhere else. So be prepared to make your own instructions for kids to take home. Also several bottles I noticed had slits/cuts so as I filled the bottles I noticed and had to hurry and put the bottle into a plastic cup to prevent dye from getting all over the place. Other than that it was a fun tie dye party. But very misleading as it says several times and there are several Tulip videos that mentions the printable.. but as I stated never could download. It kept saying something along lines of this site is for sale? So I just stopped messing with it.

> 3 dayI just ordered the same kit for the 6th time. Initially, I got it for my kids 2-3 years ago as a summer project. They loved it so much, some time later we bought another one. When the price drops, I order a few to give as presents to my kids’ friends. They all love this kit! Great value. My daughter made a few shirts that she’s worn and washed countless times. The colors do start to fade after a while, but that’s fine.

> 3 dayThe dye stays on the shirts we did well, you really have to soak it and let the shirts sit for a while before rinsing to get the maximum saturation, however it is non toxic dye so great to use with kids and if you do get it on your hands it comes off in a day or so.

> 3 dayI ordered this for a younger teen for Christmas. It came with so many more colors and supplies than I really expected it to! The plastic case was good quality too and perfect for storage!

> 3 dayMaking tie dye t-shirts is a highlight of our camping trip in the summer. Everyone can participate, and the “unveiling” of the shirt when it’s rinsed is a lot of fun. It’s a mess, but we plan for that, and the kids proudly wear their shirts that they made afterwards. It’s hard for the kids to wait until the next day to unwrap the shirts because they have to sit for 12 hours or so but it adds to the anticipation

> 3 dayMy husband and I were looking for fun date nights to do during quarantine and after googling and searching around found out we always wanted to do our own tie-dye projects! We bounced around on different clothing items with the galaxy one but we really wanted to make a tie-dye sheet set for our king mattress. These kits are easy to use, there are a TON of fun tutorials on youtube and everywhere, and we continue to use the kits to make shirts/sweats/bedding/ and are tempted to do a wall tapestry next. The colors are super vibrant, but make sure to wear gloves and black clothing so it doesnt stain because it absolutely will, the wash out process isnt painful, and after one wash I havent had any bleeding in my other laundry. Highly recommend all this brands kits.

> 3 dayThis was my first take at doing tie dye and I was very nervous but this product made it SO simple. All conveniently packaged together in a bin complete with several sets of gloves, plastic drop cloth and tons of rubber bands. All you have to do is add water to the little containers and shake to mix it up and thats it. I am not a tie dye expert and wanted something fun to do for my daughters 9th bday party and this was a huge hit. The only issue we had was taking the tips off the lids, some of them I had to cut with scissors. Overall, an excellent product for beginners. I highly recommend.

Greater than one weekSo wash my 8 year old was able to dye her own shirt. It was a lot of fun. I will say- wear the gloves when you rinse them prior to washing. I didn’t expect so much run-off since we let them sit for 4 days (I forgot about them). But it happened. And my hands are blue. :) Definitely worth the money. The instructions can be confusing on how to roll or twirl the shirt but YouTube is available to help with that. Wet the shirts first…the dye will not soak if the shirt is dry. Good luck and enjoy.
