I do music making, software engineering (including using the occasional VM), gaming and game dev. Literally have done it all, and this drive is faster than it needs to be. Kind of overkill to be honest in many ways. But were enthusiasts, right? Thats what we like? Downloads wont be any faster, as a limitation of server delivery. No external drive will keep up when it comes to file transfer. Nothing I can think of will truly take advantage of how fast this thing is. However, its future-proof, will last long, and it happened to undercut the Samsung 980 Pro (alternative of similar spec) in price by a little when I bought it. If youre trying to save money, you seriously may consider going with something thats not this fast, as you will not in any way shape or form benefit from the speed difference. If you would benefit from it, you know who you are and good on you. Otherwise, get something slower, or go for a smaller size to run the OS and pair it with a slower drive for everything else.

I like this item because it gives more storage and have your games run faster too.

Works perfectly on my PS5 console but I purchased a second one to use inside of my Lenovo ideapad gaming 3 laptop and it does not work it doesn’t seem like it’s compatible as it corrupts after every game I download and has to be reformatted everytime but it doesn’t fix it as I get the error everytime

I would recommend you check your motherboard before trying to use this, and if you are going for PCI 4.0 Gen 4 connection, double-check if there are any bios updates needed for the motherboard. I did not check ahead of time--but bad! ButI was able to use a usb stick to do a bios flashback upgrade and no problems since then.

This thing is stupid fast. This coming from someone that is coming from a gen3 drive but still. With it in my newest pc it’s a world of difference. Hard to go back to my old one.

With a PCIE 4.0 motherboard this SSD is fast. Ive been using it for about a month and it has worked flawlessly. It tends to run on the hot side so be sure to have a good heat sink on it.
