> 3 dayIf you want a third party m2 drive for your Macbook, best to try another brand or even better just buy a used OEM drive or specifically engineered OWC drive. I am sure on Linux or Windows this drive would be great, but no so on Mac OS. Check Macrumors for NVMe drive models an brands that seem more stable. Apple just is not that interested in supporting third party drives. Tested on a 2017 Macbook Air running Catalina and Monterey

28-03-2025I needed to replace an older 128GB M.2 drive that I use as my boot. This seemed like a great option, as it offers a decent amount of storage for growth in a drive that is mostly used for an OS. After comparing a few different options, I settled on this. Installation was a breeze (other than the tiny screw to secure) and my motherboard immediately recognized it. What a great upgrade. My old M.2 drive was about 5 years old, and it still works well, just was too small. Cloned the drive to the 500GB WD Blue M.2 drive and wow, what a difference. Super fast, boots quicker, runs great.

> 3 dayI purchased this drive for use on a starfive risc-v board. It seems to be working fine, and it has decent temps. I wanted a drive that wouldnt get as hot for this use since its just open air passively cooled. It fits the bill.
