Did research on my NVR and is recommended either this one or the Skyhawk for about $20 more dollars I received the hard drive about 1 to 1 1/2 weeks earlier. Easy to install and no issues

Does not work

42 days after purchase the drive is failing. It makes a buzzing sound every few minutes. The SMART info says its Normal but the value rates are all in the mid 250s which does indicate theres a problem. It just hasnt failed yet. Im concerned but will let it go until it actually fails.

The HDD was very easy to install in my reolink NVR. I just removed the old drive and installed the new drive without formatting it. It was plug and play. The old drive lasted for about 4 years. Ill update this review if it fails anytime soon.

I bought this drive to use in my Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro. I have four cameras hooked up to it, and its run perfectly for the past two years. When the day comes I need a replacement, I would definitely buy this again.

Broke after 15 days. Drive doesnt get detected in Windows or Linux. I get ntfs_pread failed: Input/output error in Linux and Disk1Unitialized Disk in windows. Return period was only 10 days and couldnt even return. Had to claim WD warranty for replacement

El disco no funciona, al ponerlo no se detecta, esta dañado, no sirve, solo perdí mi dinero, recomiendo no compren aquí, es un fraude. Tengo varios años comprando en Amazon y es la primera vez que me sale algo defectuoso pero lo malo es que para las devoluciones no es fácil y me siento defraudado.

Installed this WD Purple 4TB in my Lorex DVR (from 2016) that had a 2TB WD Purple. The drive doubled recording capacity while still keeping the performance. The newer drive has 256mb cache, vs. the older unit had 64mb cache, which means it would perform better on writing/reading, with lower heat and longer MTBF.. all in all the 256 MB WD Purple drive is a win win.. Must have if you are upgrading your DVR / NVR storage.
