UPDATE (Most Recent): Ive had the monitor for about a month now since the last update. The issue was fixed by completely unplugging my tower and monitor and just leaving them over night. Ive learned to avoid the issue by preventing the computer from going to sleep since Ive read that DP has some issues with waking up from sleep mode which is what I think caused my original issue. Occasionally Ill get the No Signal issue again and its usually fixed by just powering down my tower completely and then restarting it. UPDATE (old): Writing this a few days after my original review, my monitor is having issues getting signal over DP. Windows recognizes the monitor but the monitor shows No Signal when I try to turn it on. the HDMI and DVI inputs work perfectly fine but they dont do 144hz, which is what I bought this monitor for. Considering returning or selling this monitor. This is an affordable option for those looking for a 1080p 144 Hz monitor. I use it for both content creation work and just general gaming and its been awesome. Visuals seem crisp, colors are pretty good, and overall Im really happy with it. Out of the box the monitor is EXTREMELY bright. Like you could light a room with just this monitor. I have my brightness set to 0 in the settings and that feels significantly better to look at for long periods of time. As one could expect the built in speakers arent anything great, but Im incredibly pleased that Acer included an audio out port (3.5mm) on the monitor so you can take the audio from the HDMI or DP inputs and send them to your own speakers. The monitor has a button to activate Game Mode which seems to put some sort of sharpen filter on the screen and I have a feeling it plays a little bit with the colors as well. It also puts an FPS counter in the top right corner but that counter was a constant 144, even when I limited my framerate in games to 60 fps just to test it out so the counter isnt too useful and ultimately I think the Game Mode in general is a pain because of that sharpen filter especially. If you switch to Game Mode and then back to regular mode keep in mind that your monitor settings get reverted back to default, this includes color and brightness. Avoid the Game Mode button and this is a non-issue.

Response time: Personal I think that VA and TN panels are smoother than ips panels. This panel is responsive and don’t have ghosting… it’s great for the price. Pretty picture: Does not have pretty picture, BUT you can mess with settings and turn on HDR and mess with contrast! TN and VA panels will not get you ips colors… Overall amazing performing monitor for fps gaming… Switched from 27” hp omen X 27 (1440p 240hz) because I prefer 24” monitors.. I wish there were 24” 1440p 240hz monitors.. I would be all over it!

Decided to upgrade my display since Ive been rocking a couple 1080p 60Hz refurb panels for years. I was torn between getting a 1) 1080p ultra wide (60-100Hz), 2) 1440p 144Hz, or 3) 1080p 144Hz. I ended up with #3 obviously and man I can say I will NEVER go back to lower refresh rate gaming. Gaming at 60 Hz on my laptop screen is actually nauseating and feels clunky/disconnected. Gameplay in fast pace shooters (Apex Legends, BO4, BFV) is remarkably smoother and I have been performing noticeably better. The Freesync/GSync compatibility is great since Im not always able to hit 144fps on games with some settings cranked up. That was one reason I went with 1080p instead of 1440p. Im not a content creator but I do some photoshop edits and light room work and the color reproduction is fine in my opinion, I have experienced and seen better but this panel in no way limits me, but I dont think it aimed at professionals whatsoever. 10/10 would buy again.

For context, I now own two of these monitors, and these are my first. I bought the first one back in May 2019 for my PS4 and Switch (I game a lot), and the second in October after building a PC. I originally loved keeping the 1ms response time I was accustomed to on my TV for under $200 (at the time of writing it is $169.99), and was fine with the display and picture quality (though it took some time to get used to the smaller screen compared to my 60in TV). The monitor has settings to change colors and what not and also features a Game Mode that I suspect is the Acer EyeProtect’s Flicker-less, Blue Light Filter, ComfyView and Low-dimming technology mode. But the real change came in September when I built my first PC and connected it to this monitor. Playing with 144hz does make a real difference when playing, allowing you to see things come in focus much quicker than the 60hz I was used to, and the 1ms response time feels amazing for those accustomed to 3ms or more. It does get bright and may hurt when gaming for 8 hour prolonged sessions, but you can turn on Game Mode or dim the lights through settings. Plus, the fact that its adjustable is great, allowing it to adjust to a proper height or angle. My buddy, who still plays with a PS4, got one after I recommended it for his short desk setup, and adjusting it so it was facing him was a huge bonus for him. And for the price point its a welcome addition. Overall, solid monitor for under $200 and these have been great starter monitors for PC gaming for me.

I would not recommend this monitor unless you are pressed to buy it and wont have a 144hz monitor for any other price. So, I bought this 144hz monitor for my new computer that I built. This monitor has poor picture quality, bad colors, connection issues, and bad brightness. Its not good. However, it is 144hz. So thats nice. Another bad thing is that, in three months from purchase, it got a vertical red line down the screen. Vertical red lines are connection issues that are nearly impossible to cause on your own and impossible to fix without removing the panel. I did not hit the monitor or do any moving when it appeared. I simply was browsing the internet. They said this damage was under warranty. I sent the monitor in for the vertical red line and it was fixed within a week and a half. However, it cost me 23 dollars and my time! I also noted that the monitor had other issues (including connection issues), which they did not fix. The only thing that was fixed was the red vertical line. I want my 23 dollars back! Again, I would not recommend this monitor. It sucks and Acer kind of sucks. At least they paid for the shipping label!

Bought this for Nvidias new G sync compatibility feature since this monitor is cheapest verified to work. It works perfectly for making use of the new technology. Just an FYI though, you NEED a DisplayPort to connect your monitor to the PC or you cant use G sync compatibility. The monitor comes with the proper cord but if you only have HDMI or DVI you cannot run the G Sync stuff. My PC had a port but it is something I didnt know until I was setting it up. Pros: -G Sync Compatible. -144hz with 120hz and 100hz settings. -Adjustable stand. -Nice picture. -Great price. -Fast shipping. Cons: -Viewing angle is a bit weird when monitor is above you. Brighter at the bottom and darker at the top. I found something of a sweet spot but there is no angle to avoid it being brighter at the bottom than the top. - Default profile is pretty bad and has a lot of gamma issues. I found an ICC profile that gave me proper black and colors and it looks great but took awhile to find one that got the blacks right. Especially at 144hz. Once you find the right profile it looks great though. -Takes awhile to warm up. You will notice that things look a bit desaturated and bright until its on for a bit.

This monitor is good for a pc, and an xbox one. If your thinking about getting it for a next gen console (series x series s ps5) and want 120 fps don’t buy this because it doesn’t get it. Otherwise it’s good. I wouldn’t recommend getting this for an xbox one since you can find a 4k 60 hz/fps monitor for cheaper.

Edit June 2019: No Signal issue over DisplayPort is getting worse and worse. Really tired of fighting with this monitor. I would not suggest buying. EDIT April 19 2019 (lowering to 3 stars) - Updating to say that I still like the monitor but the DisplayPort cable it comes with is causing some problems. I am frequently getting No Signal on this monitor when I start my computer. I used to be able to fix it by unplugging cables or restarting the monitor, but now that isnt always working either. Read about the pin 20 problem with some DP cables, I believe that is the issue here. So I am looking at spending more money on a better cable. For right now I have to fight this monitor to get it working, or use HDMI instead which doesnt allow it to run at the highest frame rate. Acer should include quality cables that are wired correctly. Ive only used it for a few hours so far. No dead pixels or anything out of the box. Be patient when you first use it if you are used to a nicer monitor such as IPS. This is going to look pretty rough at first. Look up some color profiles and take the time to calibrate it to your liking. This is my first experience going above 60hz and it is worth it. Games like Rocket League look incredible. I can see why people say it is impossible to go back to lower refresh rates once you get used to this. This is also my first monitor with a high quality stand that allows you to raise and lower it easily, swivel etc. Very nice to have. I purchased this based on the recent news that Nvidia will start to allow the adaptive sync in these Freesync monitors to work with their GPUs. This model is one of the 12 out of 400 tested that Nvidia specifically listed as passing their standards for picture quality etc. The driver hasnt been released yet but we will see how it functions soon. The OSD menu is a little clunky and it seems to me that it doesnt do a great job always remembering your settings. TN panels have inherent downsides but if you arent the type to go get a $600 monitor then something like this is worth considering. With some calibration I am happy with the colors and contrast and games look great. For watching videos or browsing, I will be keeping my IPS monitor.

Sorry for the messy photo, but my cables were all organized until Acer support wanted me to try different cables to try and fix this white screen. Just bought this product 8/6/2019, and Im writing this as of 8/11/2019. I was only able to use it for 5 days and when I got home, excitedly turned on the computer, started playing my game, and suddenly, just a blank....white.....screen. Called Amazon Tech Support, and looks like they knew right away the issue, dead LCD. They recommended to either contact Acer Warranty for a replacement, or just do a return. I attempted to file a warranty claim with Acer using their website. I was able to fill in all the details, hit the last checkbox, and when I hit NEXT, it doesnt let me through. Maybe its because Im using Safari, so I tried Firefox, still the same thing. But hey, maybe their website is not optimized for Mac, lets try my Windows laptop. Still the same thing. Now Im pissed. Lets try calling their 24/7 Tech Support, which made me do the steps which I already told from the start that I already did prior to calling, but okay, I guess you wanna make sure. Here comes the fun part, I will be shipping the monitor to Texas, and any damage incurred during shipping will void the freakin warranty. GREAT! WHAT COULD GO WRONG DURING SHIPPING RIGHT? Oh, and dont forget, it takes 7-10 business days for them to check it out, and thats starting from when they receive the monitor. Good thing I still have the box because for sure, its way faster to return this piece of crap to Amazon and order a non-ACER one and it will take me less than a week to receive it. RANT OVER, NOW HERE COMES THE REVIEW FOR THE 5 DAYS I WAS ABLE TO ENJOY IT. Pros: - Jumping from 60Hz to 144Hz is something else. Once you go 144Hz, you cant go back to 60Hz. Everything is buttery smooth on my games in Ultra. I never knew watching yourself hover your mouse on the screen would be satisfying. - Comes with a Display Port cable, so you dont have to buy one. - The swivel, tilt, height adjustable mount is interesting. Very easy to work with. Youll have to see for yourself to know what I mean. - Box is really solid. I feel like if I kick it with the monitor inside, it wont break. Im pretty sure our folks on the Amazon warehouse already threw this thing multiple times but it still survived without any major defects on the box. Cons: - Very unfriendly UI on the settings of the monitor. Its a chore to actually adjust stuff, and the settings that you get are hard to navigate at. - Its a TN screen, so if youre coming from an IPS display, its not a pretty sight. Some of the stuff on the screen actually is blurred if its text, but with any graphic programs, really works well. - I didnt notice any response delay difference between my 60Hz Dell IPS monitor vs this monitor. Both of them seem to have barely noticeable response times, but maybe its because I only play MMOs and not shooters. - Broke down on me on the 6th day. White screen of death. Im glad that those who got working ones are enjoying their monitors. Sadly for me, thats not the case.

The first couple of weeks for this monitor was 4 stars. Decent picture quality that required a lot of settings tweaking to get looking right, 144hz was great compared to my old 60hz monitors and a good range of motion. However after a couple of weeks, I started seeing issues. About 50% of the time that my computer and both monitors went to sleep, the monitors would not wake up with the computer. I would get a No Signal message when using the Display Port. The only fix was force restarting my machine. A fix for this was turning off the monitors and flipping the power switch on the back off, but if I ever forgot to do this it had a chance of not waking up from sleep. The G-Sync on the monitor caused flickering when using it in games. The only fix was turning it off completely. About a week later, one of the two monitors started flickering whenever I would move my mouse. I didnt notice it while gaming, but most other apps would be clearly flickering slightly. At that point I just decided the headache of trying to troubleshoot this wasnt worth it and I returned them and replaced them with two ASUS VG248QG 24 165hz monitors. The price is almost the same and Ive had 0 issues with them as opposed to these. I really wanted to like these, but once the issues started it wasnt worth fixing them
