> 3 dayIve been actively using this monitor for almost 4 years now. Now that Im working from home, Ive gone back through specifically to find this order to base my next purchase off of. Ive never had any issues, crashes, or bugs with it. The variable height is great and is easy to transport. Big fan and have nothing but good things to say about it both recreationally and professionally.

> 3 dayBought this for Nvidias new G sync compatibility feature since this monitor is cheapest verified to work. It works perfectly for making use of the new technology. Just an FYI though, you NEED a DisplayPort to connect your monitor to the PC or you cant use G sync compatibility. The monitor comes with the proper cord but if you only have HDMI or DVI you cannot run the G Sync stuff. My PC had a port but it is something I didnt know until I was setting it up. Pros: -G Sync Compatible. -144hz with 120hz and 100hz settings. -Adjustable stand. -Nice picture. -Great price. -Fast shipping. Cons: -Viewing angle is a bit weird when monitor is above you. Brighter at the bottom and darker at the top. I found something of a sweet spot but there is no angle to avoid it being brighter at the bottom than the top. - Default profile is pretty bad and has a lot of gamma issues. I found an ICC profile that gave me proper black and colors and it looks great but took awhile to find one that got the blacks right. Especially at 144hz. Once you find the right profile it looks great though. -Takes awhile to warm up. You will notice that things look a bit desaturated and bright until its on for a bit.

> 3 dayI spent hours trying various settings and watching videos in an attempt to make this panel look good, unfortunately theres not much information out there on this panel. The ghosting effects are unbearable. The colors are awful, the gamma is awful, the shadows are awful, the refresh rate bounces allover from 50s to over 200 which causes a strange flicker effect on the panel -- It randomly goes from bright to dimmer, back to bright, back to dim, etc. Theres virtually nothing positive worth noting. Ive got a ASUS TUF Gaming 23.8” 1080P Monitor (VG249Q1R) Full HD IPS 165Hz -- It is flawless and beautiful, zero ghosting, vibrant colors, a completely different experience. Ill just go buy another one of those. The 5 star reviews must be for another model, because this Acer Nitro XFA243Y Sbiipr 23.8” Full HD (1920 x 1080) VA Gaming Monitor is not even worthy of a single star. Save up an extra $30-50 and get something better. DO NOT BUY.

> 3 dayFor the price, This is a great gaming monitor. Ultimately I am very pleased with this monitor, despite a few shortcomings. (At the end of this review, I have shared settings that are widely shared across the web for better picture quality.) Ill start off with the few things I DONT like first. The Menu Buttons, I hate them. 6 rectangular buttons in a row on the bottom right of the monitor. I would prefer a joystick style. The Color, Horrible out of the box. Very bright, Very washed out. But very Fixable. The rest is all positive. My argument against the things I dont like will simply be For the Price, You cant Beat it. I paid $189.99 for this XFA240 monitor. For under $200 dollars, you wont be able to find a better monitor. Especially one with 144hz and 1ms response time. Performance wise, this monitor is a beast. This is my first 144hz gaming monitor, and you can literally feel the difference. I play mainly FPS games and in my 100% honest opinion, I believe monitor has enhanced my game-play. Those small precise movements, Split second twitch shots, Quick peaks from cover, ect. All start to feel...Right. I would definitely recommend this monitor if you can get past the wonky Menu Buttons, And washed out picture out of the box. Again, with some tweaking to the settings this monitor will perform fine. Again, Remember this is a sub $200 GAMING monitor. Its not going to compete with the big name monitors that easily cost $200-$400 more than this one. So it does have its short comings. But, For the Price...You cant beat it! Recommended Settings. This is a good base line, you may prefer to add a few more tweaks. Picture: Bright: 5 Contrast: 45 Black Level: 3 Blue light: OFF ACM: OFF Super Sharpness: OFF Color: Gamma 2.2 Colour temp: User * R Gain:55 * G Gain:52 * B Gain:50 All bias to 49 SRGB mode: OFF 6-axis hue: Default 6-axis Saturate: Adjust all to 55 except yellow saturate to 59.

> 3 dayAs a disclaimer for this review, I am exploring this from the perspective of a lifetime user of a below average, OEM, 60hz or below monitor. I am by no means the expert authority on displays. - The build quality is noticeably solid and has some weight to it. - The base and arm allow full ergonomic movement in every direction to include up, down, left, right, and full rotations. This is an impressive feature for such an inexpensive monitor. - With all of the negative reviews across the internet damning TN panels for having bad color reproduction, I find it hard to believe we are talking about the same monitor: Not only does this panel have a crisp image and good color reproduction, it is also extremely bright. In addition, I didnt notice any bleeding or dead pixels. - High refresh rate use and gaming is now noticeably better than ever. I cant, and will hopefully never, go back to 60hz. - G-sync compatible for Nvidia users out there. If yourre on the fence about this one, Do yourself a favor and ignore all other offerings at this price point from AOC, Spectre, and those other brands. Ive already done all of the headache and research for you in this regard. The only other monitor Id suggest looking at other than this is the BENQ zowie xl2411p.

> 3 dayEverything is great, but you must change the default settings. Having the refresh rate glued to the screen isnt a great default (that has to be overwritten). The super sharpness setting also looked terrible to me, it creates way too many jagged edges and distorts the picture. This was all in game mode (I assume it helps the refresh rate) Past that, once youre set up youre good. I have yet to have an issue past fixing bad default decisions.

> 3 dayThe monitor has 144hz which was my main goal for a monitor but this monitor is G-sync compatible not just a G-sync monitor. Functions exactly like it should but I wish it was advertised as G-sync compatible which is my only issue with this product.

Greater than one weekI got this to replace my 60hz Dell IPS panel (had brilliant colors, but slower response), and I am quite pleased since I play a lot of fast-paced games. nVidia G-Sync was very easy to setup (I highly recommend only using it in Full-Screen mode, I had some issues with windowed borderless in some games), and I get insane frame rates on my RTX 3070 with zero screen tearing. Pros: - Very fast response time - High frame rates - No screen tearing Cons: - Colors not as good as other panels, but this is to be expected since its a TN panel. This one is just barely a con because I was able to google and find good monitor settings to use.

Mikes Reviews
Greater than one weekFirst off, I really love the 144hz. Its kinda hard to describe how much different a screen is when running at 144hz. Everything is much more real looking. When you drag a window its like dragging a sheet of paper. I also like the adjustability of these screens. They have up, down and forward and back tilt. Where things are not so good is if youre reading text on the screen. Its pretty fuzzy which I suppose is to be expected on a 1080p screen but its not just fuzzy blacks are kinda washed out against white screens. You can try to adjust this but if you fix the black on white problem that creates a problem with darker videos. In essence theyre cheap 144hz screens and it shows for detail work. However, having said that, games look glorious (assuming you can live with 1080p) so if thats your primary use these will rock out for you. Edit: Ive had these monitors quite some time now and I find that while its true the text isnt super sharp its plenty good for most purposes and never really gets in the way of working. Bumped it up to 4 star.
