I have had this monitor for about a week now and I have to say this thing is great. I am using it for ps4 as of right now because I plan to get a pc in the future. Yes I know that 144hz isnt compatible with a console but as of right now this is all I have. Im mostly playing fortnite at the moment but I tested it out on other games and I literally just realized that there is a slight ghosting. Its nothing noticable at all but I was spaced out staring at my character while spinning and I saw like a small shadow or “ghosting” effect coming off his arm. Like i said nothing to worry about as I am guessing this wont happen on 144hz cause its a faster refresh rate and will be a ton smoother. I am just curious if anyone has this issue on theirs as well? This super unoticable ghosting is no reason why you should not get the monitor unless you notice a lot

Well crap, was enjoying my Acer XFA240 monitor, loved my monitor up until the time it broke just 3 months later. I think I saw the same problem in a few other reviews but thought hey theres always a few bad apples in the bunch when it comes to purchasing a computer monitor no matter which company you buy it from, so I went ahead with my purchase. Unfortunately, I now have the same issue as some of the other reviews. My DISPLAY PORT has gone bad, my monitor runs through its load up by searching for which port it is hooked up to my computer then it says No input found and then puts itself in amber standby mode. I reconnected to the monitor using my Dual link DVI cable that I have connected to my second monitor and the monitor works great again, that would be all fine and dandy except you cant use Free-Sync when connected to DVI, Free-Sync only works through the Display Port and thats the only reason I bought this monitor was to utilize its Free-sync capabilities, so now I have a useless monitor for the purpose I wanted it to be used for. I have gone through ACER support and they seem to think that the Display port cable has gone bad, so I said ok send me a new one then since the display port cable was provided with the monitor. So, theyre sending me a new display port cable to hook up and if the new cable doesnt fix the problem which I find hard to believe that the cable went bad in that short a time, after I hook it up and it still doesnt work, I had them put that scenario in my support case with them so I dont have to go through this process again and have them just send me a new monitor. If it turns out to be just a bad DP cable, I will amend my review to reflect, as I really do love this monitor. Hopefully, they are unfortunate enough to have been including crappy DP cables with their monitors and it fixes the problem, will see. Update 14 May 2019: Ok, I didnt want to wait a couple of weeks to receive my replacement DP cable from Acer to see if the cable was the problem with my monitor so I went ahead and purchased a well reviewed DP cable here at Amazon, after plugging in to the same DP jack on my video card and monitor with the new cable I still had the same issue with my monitor not working, still showed No input found, however, I decided to plug the cable into one of my alternate DP jacks on my video card and low and behold my monitor works again. So, not sure where my problem lies, did the cable Acer supplied with my monitor eventually burn out my other DP slot, or did I have an issue with my less than a year old MSI GTX 1060 video card DP going bad, not sure, but anyway my monitor is back working again.

I was reading a review and saw someone else experience the exact same issue I have. Sometimes the display will go blank and show nothing. This could happen for days and then eventually work fine again. If I looked at a second monitor when the issue occurred, I could see windows recognizing the device when its on and hiding the device when its off, so it seems like there is a signal being sent. The monitor was just not displaying it. The monitor is relatively cheap compare to other high refresh rate monitors(At the time I bought it in 2017). I had this issue occur to me multiple times and I even sent it to Acer twice to get repaired. Shipping I had to cover each time. Both times, the monitor got sent back to me saying they could not reproduce the issue and no repairs were done on it. I narrowed down the issue to the monitor. Some testing I did was use different GPUs, use a different display port and use a different cable. All the while I had a second monitor that did not have any issues at all. One solution was to use the HDMI port but that was only limited to 120Hz, not the 144Hz advertised and the reason why I chose this. I had some issues with FreeSync as well, causing the entire display(more like the backlight) to look like its flickering and it was very distracting. I wound up buying a new monitor and have not had any issues with that since. Since the warranty has expired, Im attempting to use the benefit on my Amazon Prime card of extending the warranty an extra year for certain products. I reached out to Acer to get a repair estimate, their standard fee for out of warranty repairs is $179. Youd be better off just buying the monitor again after factoring shipping.

These monitors are really very nice for $199. I bought 2 to set up on either side of my (also Acer) Predator 144Hz 35in monitor. I set them both up vertically to multitask and do home network monitoring. The fact that these cant rotate either direction sort of bothers me, as Id love to do some more in depth cable managing. Finding a good angle on the right monitor is a bit tough, but is doable. Colors are super washed when first set up, 10 minutes of tinkering made a world of difference. All in all, for $200 a pop, these are a great deal. I cant speak for longevity, but they feel and look pretty premium. The stands they come with are superb and adjustable to almost the max. I just wish they could tilt either way, and not just to the left.

The base for the monitor screen is very stable holding it in and it is adjustable being able to move up and for left and right

I bought this G-Sync monitor and was extremely excited to get it up and running. The minute I got home from work and plugged it into my video card, things started to go south. First off, my second monitor which was plugged into my VC via HDMI was no longer recognized. I went to reboot to see if that would fix the problem and suddenly my computer had a crash dump, which it hasnt had in 3 years. Once the crash dump was finished processing I decided to reinstall my video card drivers to see if that would fix the issue. Once again, I rebooted, and once again, I got a crash dump. Something about this monitor was conflicting with my video card. I decided to give up on trying to fix that and instead moved on to see how the monitor impacted my gameplay. I booted up Diablo 3 and was prepared to be blown away--but no change. I started to google how to set up my G-sync monitor. Pages upon pages of instructions until I finally found a simple process. I opened my NVidia control panel and went to the place where enabling G-Sync was supposed to be and it wasnt there. I even verified through the NVidia site that my video card supported G-Sync so I was at a loss. Another googled webpage told me to turn on Vertical Sync via my NVidia control panel and that that would enable G-Sync---once again to no avail. I finally called a computer expert friend of mine for some help. He remoted in and tried to do all the same steps I did and wasnt able to find any option to enable G-Sync. He was though, able to go into my monitor setting and turn it up to 144hz, which DID look amazing. But no G-sync for gameplay. So thats all the technical headache. Aesthetically, this monitor has much to be desired and is really showing its age. The monitor is thick, with a thick frame. Doesnt match the look and feel of modern, sleeker monitors. Looked like an ugly stepchild when sitting next to my Dell monitor. Pros: 144hz looks nice Very reasonable price for a monitor Cons: Very difficult to get working properly Not compatible with some NVidia video cards Ugly aesthetics

The first couple of weeks for this monitor was 4 stars. Decent picture quality that required a lot of settings tweaking to get looking right, 144hz was great compared to my old 60hz monitors and a good range of motion. However after a couple of weeks, I started seeing issues. About 50% of the time that my computer and both monitors went to sleep, the monitors would not wake up with the computer. I would get a No Signal message when using the Display Port. The only fix was force restarting my machine. A fix for this was turning off the monitors and flipping the power switch on the back off, but if I ever forgot to do this it had a chance of not waking up from sleep. The G-Sync on the monitor caused flickering when using it in games. The only fix was turning it off completely. About a week later, one of the two monitors started flickering whenever I would move my mouse. I didnt notice it while gaming, but most other apps would be clearly flickering slightly. At that point I just decided the headache of trying to troubleshoot this wasnt worth it and I returned them and replaced them with two ASUS VG248QG 24 165hz monitors. The price is almost the same and Ive had 0 issues with them as opposed to these. I really wanted to like these, but once the issues started it wasnt worth fixing them

All works good. So far only thing I dislike are the buttons that are used to configure the screen settings. Also everytime I switch to gaming mode the reticle and frame rate shows. Wouldve been better if it could be disabled fully.

I bought this for the response time and the 144hz refresh rate, but the color issues are making me consider returning it. I like that it comes with a height/tilt adjustable stand--thats part of why I got this one over other options . The color and brightness issues I describe below are the main reason I give it 3 stars. I didnt think it would be as bad as it is. It has worked fine otherwise, so if you still think it wont bother you, it might be worth considering as a 144hz option, but I would recommend comparing it against other options first. *Color issues: I have noticed the frequently cited color issues. Out of the box, the colors are very off and very washed out. After calibrating the color and brightness, it looked a little bit better, but the colors were still off and inconsistent, and screen felt dim because of how low I had to adjust the brightness. The top left corner of the screen on my unit is also slightly more saturated than the rest of the screen which isnt noticeable unless the screen is a solid color like in some menus and on the Windows 10 ctrl+alt+delete screen. I know TN panels often have flat colors, but my laptop has a TN panel that does well enough. The color issues on this panel are extreme. Cables in the box: Mine came with a Displayport cable and a 3.5mm aux jack. You MUST use a Displayport or Dual-Link DVI cable to take advantage of the 144hz refresh rate. Otherwise, it will be capped at a lower refresh rate, so its nice that that was included. I will complain about the color, but props to Acer for including the right cable in the box.
