AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-core, 24-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor

Despite BIOS updates making things slowly better over time, this CPU is the cause of many WHEA errors. There is a temporary workaround, which is disabling rushed shiny new features such as Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO) causing instability, but then why not buy a 3900X instead and be better off.

Easy to install, PC runs like a dream

I have not tested it to see if it actually works but I wanted to post this before the anger leaves me.

Looking back at description I see no place that reveals this AMD Ryzen 9 5900x 12 core requires “discrete graphics card required “ I only noticed this is small print on box after I already installed it. Not sure if I was shipped wrong processor , scammed, or are just suppose to know all these type require purchase of new graphics card to be compatible. I knew motherboard was compatible. This was very disappointing after spending this kind of cash. I’m sure it can’t be returned because of Thermal paste on it….

Cpu was great but do not order through amazon if you are wanting your free game. You wont ever get the redeemable email code for the game download.

This a great CPU all around for gaming and other workloads. However, Amazon has issues with fulfillment on this product. Ive ordered both a 5800x and 5900x from Amazon and in both cases they ship in plastic envelopes with no protection. Im not even talking about the envelope with a thin layer of insulation/bubblewrap, Im talking about the single layer plastic bag type envelope with no insulation and no shock protection. Pray that your carrier is gentle with your cpu.

single core freq. is able to boost to 5.15 ghz after PBO2 tweaking. Extremely impressive.
