> 24 hourIf you look closely, you can see the plug starting to melt! I kept smelling something and couldnt figure out where it was coming from. I had my electric fireplace plugged into a power strip. The fireplace finally just turn off. I found out where the smell was coming from. The app told me I was offline. Be careful not to use a power strip or smart plug to run your fireplace.

> 24 hourOnly a couple of times does one of my plugs seem like it works 80% of the time but it might be cause its a distance from my router? Other than that these are all hooked up to my Alexa and works great. I have almost everything automatic now. I dont have to go manually turn on and off lights, Scentsies, cameras, etc. All can be done while on the couch or even while Im out of the house. Had to order some for my sister.

> 24 hourAfter 45 minutes, Im sad to report that SmartLife should be the app you use to bring it into Alexa. Do not use the printed instructions. Do not do anything but use SmartLife. Once its connected, works perfectly!

> 24 hourThis Ayococr Smart Socket is one of a small army of essentially similar products coming from overseas, all built on the Tuya Smart IoT (Internet of Things) platform. Setup is essentially identical to any of the other similar, no-name products sold on Amazon. A download link is provided for the Smart Life app, in the form of a QR code on the product box, and in the included instructions. I cant speak to the Android version of the app, but the iOS version works well, and is highly rated. The Smart Life app performs the initial setup of the Smart Plug, to get it on your 2.4 GHz WiFi, and provides remote turn on/off. In the case of this device, the Quick Mode setup did not work, but the fallback AP Mode configuration was completely effective. Once this one-time setup is complete, Smart Life provides on/off status, and provides myriad timer on/off functions. Alexa integration requires additional steps, to install the Smart Life skill, and configure Alexa to control the Smart Plug. Instructions for this are also included. Once the initial setup is completed, the unit functions as expected with the greater Alexa ecosystem. Altogether, being a two-app process, setup is disjointed, compared to the Amazon Smart Plug, but unlike the Amazon product, provides multi-platform support (Google and IFTTT). I have lamps plugged into mine, and setup to respond to Alexa, turn on/off the bedroom/family room/living room lights which works flawlessly. Interestingly, the product itself does not have the ETL certification mark called out in the product description, but does have legitimate FCC and RoHS marks. The product itself is attractively packaged, and has good fit and finish, particularly for the price point. It is also more compact than many competitors; this plug can be used in a standard duplex outlet without blocking the other socket. Given I can buy a four-pack of these for about the same price as a single Amazon plug, and get the same final result, its a great buy. Update: Based on my previous experience with this product, purchased in August 2019, I ordered another one of these in February, 2020. In contrast to my earlier experience, this time, I was able to successfully configure the new unit via the Quick Mode setup. Also, unlike the units I received last summer, the new one has an ETL regulatory mark on it. Quick web searches confirm the ETL and FCC marks are genuine. Given how many low cost electronics of Chinese origin are lacking such regulatory approval markings entirely, or have obviously falsified markings, this inspires a much greater degree of confidence that this product is well made and safe.

> 24 hourTwo of the four have died in three months. Unfortunately, the second just after the return window closed. Very disappointing.

> 24 hourTruly Cheapest ones i found in Amazon and close to 5 star reviews with so many satisfied customers according reviews. So when i was looking for smart plugs, I jumped on these. I purchased all together 16 of them. It has been almost a month. Enough time to be familiar with them. All the plugs were used in different remote locations and for different devices to be turned on off remotely and used with schedules and smart groupings. Many began to fail. For example, One just did not work after a 3 weeks of working and many effort went it to it to figure out why it was not working (Amazon tech service were consulted as well). Final conclusion for this one was that it Just failed and did not work even though it was giving all the right indications that it was working ( switch lights indications, and from smart life app). Other failing issues are, failing Erratically from scheduled times I have set ( not come on of fail to turn of at scheduled off time) and just fail to connect ( dropped from wifi network) and becomes ‘off line’. I would not mined so much if all the failing devices are located near by where i just go and reset them but most of them are off sights and hours away so until I am there, I could not do anything ( not knowing if it is on ? Or off? That is not good). One issue is that it is odd is that three of the smart plugs are using same net work of wifi close to each other and always same two fails and drops from the net work and becomes ‘off line’. So this is situation, out of 16 i got, 5 of them gives me this problem of offline where i just can not control from Smart life app so they become useless till I go to reset ( but fails again in couple of day and must wait till i get there again to reset them) . About the scheduling failure, i am not so much in concern Right Now since as long as i can turn them on or off remotely, i can live with it. So I have 6 that fails of of 16 and these ones i am in process of returning for a full refund before 30 days of return period guide line from Amazon (after that i am to contact directly to manufacture since it was sold, according to amazon, there after). Smart plugs are very convenient if they work. So i am going to try different brands that works better. Once I find them, my intention is to retune all to this manufacturer. I hope I am not the only one having these problems. It can not be. 6 failed smart plugs out of 16 is like over 35% failure rate which means since it comes 4 outlet in a box, at least one should be defective ( from 30 days of trial. Who know how long these switches will last before they all fail...). Other brands i am looking at right now regardless of the prices are gosund ( amazon certified) and wyze ( I have 11 cameras and am happy with) brand. Good luck

> 24 hourEasy to install (setup), and work great! I have a couple of smart bulbs that wont work w/ Alexa, but once I plugged the lamps into these sockets...MAGIC! Works on anything you can plug into it. Would definitely recommend.
