Bought this for my husband so he could reseat his heat sinks. A tiny bit goes a long way, easy to spread thinly.

What is there to say? Arctic Silver 5 has long been a popular thermal compound, and its reputation speaks for itself. I used a pea sized dab on my Intel Core i5 6600k along with the Cooler Master 212 Hyper Evo cpu cooler. So far Ive had no issues or concerns with my CPU getting hot. I game for a few hrs on end. BIOS typically indicates my CPU is only around 28 degrees Celsius. I havent yet tried any overclocking, but I have no worries for when I do. And dont let the tiny size of the tube fool you, youll have more than enough left over to use on a couple other cpus as well. If its your first time applying a thermal paste, use a pea sized dab or the grain of rice technique. A quick youtube search will help you with simple video tutorials.

I ordered this because im making an attempt to repair my white 360 (still waiting for delivery). Ive heard nothing but good things about the product so hopefully this works, otherwise my console is just way too far gone. My errors have been overheating errors and my console does get very hot. I bought it refurbished and whoever tried to fix it had no idea what they were doing. Theres paste all over the motherboard and caked on the CPU, GPU, down the sides, and all over the heat sinks. So hopefully i can clean all this up and repair it correctly. If this works, i definitely will update with 5 stars.

My i3-540 Intel Retail cpu installed on an Intel motherboard was overheating - hitting 104 C and shutting down. I couldnt run the win7 performance without overheating. The problem was that the supplied thermal transfer for the heat sink wasnt working very well. The Arctic 5 arrived and it would get 5 stars except that, to install it, I had to find 3 things = pure alcohol, a no-lint swab, and an old credit card. If you have all these things handy, then you give it 5 stars. Why cant Arctic charge $1 more and put a little sealed up swab, with a piece of plastic in the package and make the whole experience easy? anyway, now the cpu idles at 32 C, and runs up to about 46 C when working hard in the performance test. It never gets out of the green band of the Intel CPU meter. The instructions were very good, and although picky, they are easy to follow and give good results. Great product.

This is kind of the classic heat grease. I got it because it has a very strong history of good performance. Its quite a bit thicker than other greases that I have seen and used. I havent had any problems with application or subsequent performance, but then I dont really overclock much, so I dont really put it through the difficult tests.
