> 3 dayIts apparently not possible to set up this RM4 pro without internet access. The device creates a wifi network named Broadlink_WiFi_Device but when I connect to it, I cant find a web interface to continue the set up. It gives me an ip in the 192.168.10.0 range so Ive tried 192.168.10.1 but there is no web interface at that address. Ive also tried to set it up using the android app but I dont have internet access at this location where the RM4 is being set up. I only have a router without WAN access. Unfortunately the app wont work unless the device has WAN access. It also needs you to create an account, verify your email address, get your location info, get and maintain internet access. Its stupid and unnecessarily complicated. All I want to do is read an RF signal through Home Assistant. If they had a local setup web interface like all other IoT devices then it would be fine.

> 3 dayThere a lot of things that Alexa or Google can do but adding this device extends their ability to control the IR (TV remotes etc) and the RF (radio frequency devices) that you have had in your home for years. It allows you to control these devices via voice and does so reliability and easily. I have been more than impressed by this device. As a note for RF, make the unit you are buying supports both 315MHz & 433MHz.

> 3 dayI have both a harmony hub with a remote and this broadlink rm4 pro i just got today. Set up was easy on my iPhone however it was a nightmare on my Galaxy S7 (and im an android person) i kept getting errors as well being told it wouldnt work on my network. Had i not tried it on the Iphone i probably would have filed a return. Now for the actual product, its very small, easy to hide. The harmony hub is leaps ahead in terms of ease of use and UI. The only benefit this one has , is it includes a universal RF controller which ive gotten to work great with my lights and other RF devices that the harmony would not do. In my opinion one is not a replacement for the other, however harmony was a lot easier for me to setup. Over all though the device works, and i couldnt find anything else that offers this. Hopefully the android issue was just something i experienced.

> 3 dayThis is the only option in the market and it works, makes any applices with remote smart for cheap. Interface is very straight forward. I very like it, i bought it twice.

> 3 dayOriginally i had issues getting anything to work. It just took me to a screen that looks like a Remote, but it is not connected to anything and I had no buttons anywhere to connected to anything. Anyway, somehow i got out of that loop and connected my projector. Learning each button took a minute but was fairly painless. I wanted a scene with that and my roku, but the roku is not supported in scenes. The next device I wanted to integrate with is RF. The manufacturer of the device couldn’t tell me anything about the frequency at which it operates, so I took a gamble purchasing this Broadcom unit. Unfortunately it does not seem to work. So basically I can control my projector from my phone. It was very easy to integrated with Siri, which is nice.

Greater than one weekIm using this to link my automatic blinds to Alexa so I can just say, Computer, open/close the windows and all the honeycomb blinds in my bedroom and master bath activate. So convenient! Set up was quick and I havent had to deal with re-establishing the link even after that big Amazon disruption a couple of weeks ago. I like the fact that its low profile and small size make it relatively inconspicuous, too.

> 3 dayThis works great. Controls my roller shade, mini split a/c unit, TV, and surround sound zvox. And it works with Alexa. At night I tell Alexa to turn the family room off and the shade goes down and all other items turn off It’s easy to set up and it works great. The only thing is I wish they would add a usb power module and come in white.

Greater than one weekLatest IOS App on iPhone 11 w/latest firmware would not get past first step in adding device. Kept saying connect to your homes Wi-Fi. I was connected to a 2.4Ghz SSID w/no complementary 5Ghz SSID. Called there 5x24hr support line to no avail. They never answer, it goes to some Spanish voicemail. All the videos online like like they are using a much older version of the broad link app.. I also dislike that I have to give the app permissions for geo location on top of bluetooth which both seem unnecessary. I get the vibe that this thing is just a cheap data mining utility for some Chinese company. Doesnt have a mature product feel. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend putting this on a segmented guest network. It only needs to communicate outbound unless you intend to use the Roku feature. I was excited there seems to be decent support for some advanced things like home-bridge etc.. but those are all worthless if the device wont even connect to the network. Im in the process of returning and going with a bond fan bridge. Unfortunately it costs 3x as much but at least I KNOW that works.
